Did anyone watch episode one of The Last Ship? What do you think? Will it last?

I watched it and am not convinced it will be a winner. I say this because I watched The Last Resort and I thought it would be a winner and it never made one season.

I hate watching a new series to watch it get cancelled.

As much as I love scifi and apocalyptic themes, this just didn't do it for me. The characters left me cold and the concept just seemed too surreal. I do have one basic rule -- I have to care enough about the characters that I don't want them to die and that just wasn't happening here. Quit watching about halfway through.

Thanks for your input. I managed to finish episode one and I agree. And the plots are already starting to grow so I guess this one is a done deal.

I have it taped but have not watched it yet. I enjoy watching anything with Rhona Mitre. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0593961/

Indeed Rhonda Mitre is the only thing good about this series. Its lame really lame.

Watched Tyrant last night. good start; albeit wish they avoided pushing the social agenda thing. If they continue to go heavy on it I'll stop watching as I have of others. I am looking for good entertainment and if i wanted political discourse on social issues then i watch the news

sounds like those who've seen it reflect the critics views....I have it recorded....I'll probably watch it but won't get too involved

We, too, love sci-fi (even syfy). But we just could not stay interested in the plot or characters. We will probably just record the series, for a rainy day when the satellite goes out.

I give any new show three episodes to make my decision. The first one was only OK, and the grandstand speeches leave me cold. That' sweat really turned me off with Newsroom. A good idea, ruined by the writers with a political agenda.

the previews for future episodes look more promising.. I will give it a chance and then I figure once I DO like it.. it will be cancelled..just like most of the series I commit to.

Different from the novel which was based upon a nuclear holocaust. Maybe it will gel.

I finished viewing the current two episodes. It is a good show. I also liked The Last Resort and was sad to see it cancelled.

These cable stations may have more wiggle room with which programs they can keep showing.

I watched it and will give it one more episode. How long can this theme go on for?

I am going to watch episode 2 right now. We will see if I want to do episode 3.

As absurd as #2 was, I guess I am in for the long haul.
