Could someone direct me to previous threads about buying home insurance and buying furniture for a pre-owned home... Cost is a factor but don't want poor quality...

For home insurance, The Villages Insurance office is really pretty good and I'm not one to recommend much of what the developer offers in the way of services.

For furniture, I recommend checking for used furniture in the paper and at garage/moving sales. You can find some really nice pieces at good prices. I got a gorgeous black leather sofa for $150.00 off of craigslist.org.

There are a couple consignment places where one can occasionally find great stuff a good prices -- and junk you wouldn't put in your home for any price. One is on 27/411 north of TV almost to 42 in the long strip mall on the west side of the hway. I think there's two storefronts there. The other is in Oxford off 466, a block south. It's across the street from Jennings.

Call Stephanie at 347-9201 for home insurance. When you leave her office you have a sense of relief because she takes the time to explain everything to you and you can call her anytime and she always has time to speak to you. Also, she has a great golf cart policy for around $ 60.00 year. No, I do not work for her. She is just a great agent.
