Today as I was exiting the pool 'locker room', headed to the parking lot after my water class at Laurel Manor,
I almost bumped into a nicely dressed man (ironed shorts, new boat shoes, hairspray and gold jewelry) with a younger Springer Spaniel on a leash.

The door to the men's "locker room' was closing behind him.

The dog was dripping wet.

I asked in surprise, "Did you two just come from the locker room?

"No," he said politely, "but if we did, would that be a problem?"

I replied, "I believe it's against the health code to hose your dog down in the men's showers."
He just smiled and walked away.
I guess I HAVEN"T yet seen it all….. after all. :ohdear:

I am glad he did not take it for a swim.

At least someone/thing uses the showers at the pool.

If you have had a dog and a pool, it is kind of hard not to recognize where a pooch has gotten out of it. There's quite a puddle as the owners of Bailey, Petie, and some others at Doggie Doo Run Run could attest.

We had a cocker spaniel, Amber, which unfortunately went blind from cataracts in both eyes. She fell into the pool on occasion whenever someone forgot to close the gate. She also hated to be alone. So, she gravitated towards the sound of human voices. It got to be too much because she also destroyed property when alone. So, we had to put her down at seven after struggling with her blindness for quite some time.

Just saying there is a lot of water exchange when trying to pull a dog out of a pool and/or when they get out. They shake a lot.

Retired People buying dog food - maybe I am on the wrong blog with that?

Yesterday I was at my local grocery buying a large bag of Purina Dog Chow for my loyal pet, Jake, the Wonder Dog, and was in the check-out line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog.
What did she think...I had an elephant?

So because I'm retired and have little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again. I added that I probably shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is, to load your pants pockets with Purina Nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.)

Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me.
I told her no, I stopped to pee on a fire hydrant and a car hit me.

I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard.
The store won't let me shop there anymore.

Better watch what you ask retired people. They have all the time in the world to think of crazy things to say.

That reminded me of a funny situation I had had in the Southern Trace Shopping Center a while back. Probably around March 2014. https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/859184-post8.html

What health code, where? I'd like to read that for myself. Do you have a citation?
