Two years ago the Mrs. & I went to Leesburg for fireworks & at that time I believe I posted here they were some of the best fireworks I had ever seen. Not counting a bicentennial celebration back in 76. Well we went again tonite and I thought they were even better this year. Kudos to whoever runs this event as everyone was entertained immensely!

Siesta Key, near Sarasota. On the beach for fireworks. Yes some government authority shot fireworks up but they paled in comparison to those set off by individuals, who also sent lanterns by the dozen into the air, and I'm not sure who else was shooting fireworks off, maybe it was the different hotels or maybe each named beach, I don't know. It was the greatest extravaganza of individual effort, governmental and commercial effort I have ever seen. Some of it I watched having gone into the Gulf of Mexico by the light of the half-moon. This allowed us to see the panorama of all the fireworks along the beach from one end to the other. I never saw anything like it, and I still hear the booming of fireworks outside. This started about 630 and it's now close to 1130. Happy birthday USA

I lived in Sarasota in the 1980s and loved Siesta Key Beach. Don't know if I;d drive three hours to see fireworks however.
We went to Mt Dora on Thursday night and Leesburg last night. Both were very good.

We went to Leesburg last night as well, and the fireworks were great. Unfortunately the light breeze blew the smoke and litter directly over us for most of the show, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll go back next year.

Went to Leesburg also, Great Show. Lots of people setting off their own also and some from town were visible. we got there at 4PM (16) and sat near BBG truck. Should have had more vendors over there, especially for dessert. We would be be willing to though some money in the bucket to help pay for them.
Highly recommend. (First Independence Day here).
