Replacing gas lines in attic

Hubby and I are thinking about replacing the gas lines in our attic with a safer system. Has anyone had this done? Price? Suggestions? Who did you use and were you happy with their service? Can you tell I am looking for any information and feedback on this subject. Thanks!

Make sure you use a licensed plumber to do this. I did not get this kind of work done but I have used Mike Scott plumbing for other work. He is a large company who does a lot of work on the new homes being built here. I would think he would able to do the work you are looking for. Just remember to get three bids on the work and let them explain and put in writing the work being done.

I was interested in getting my gas lines replaced in my attic. I contacted Mike Scott plumbing because they were referred. The guy who came said that I didn't need to replace the line. I thought that they would replace the gas line but I didn't do anything nor did I followthru with another plumber.

Mike Scott Plumbing did all of the plumbing work when this house was built and so I have continued using them for both warranty work and needed plumbing issues.

Little dog explained that Mike Scott said he didn't need to.

I considering call Scott to determine what this means. Also consider the alternative to "don't need to" to I want it done for my peace of mind and see what the answer is

I don't remember exactly what I was told but I got the impression that replacing the gas lines was not needed and there was no risk in keeping the line I have.

By our estimate about a 100 home owners have changed out their CSST gas pipe. The cost ranges from $800 to $1,200. Scott Plumbing, Kieley Plumbing, and Mobley Gas Systems are three known to have licensed gas instalers and have made conversions in TV. There could be others. The key is licensed gas installers.
