In just a little over two weeks my bride and I will be visiting the villages on a life style preview. I have been reading the forums and getting a lot of info. Guest services will set up two tee times for us. My question to all my fellow golfers is: Which would be your top two or three courses to play. I thank you for your input.

I am really looking forward to playing golf when we arrive. The weather in St. Louis has not been very good this winter. 16 degrees now with a chance of snow.

Since they're paying, I'd play Palmer and Lopez.

Thanks Golfnut: Will it be possible to play a few more rounds of golf at other courses if we try for a tee time later in the day? Maybe 3:30 or 4

In addition to Palmer and Lopez, I like the Havana (Hemmingway and Kilimanjaro) as well as the Cane Garden courses.

I may be wrong but I don't think you have a choice in the courses on the preview plan. TV will make tee times for you and you have little to no choice as to where.

I was told that as well. When i visit in April i will play their two freebies where they say but i plan on going out as a single at a couple of my choices (Cane and Havana from the input i had).

We visited TV last April and we were able to play at both Lopez and Palmer. Both are great, and we asked to specifically play there. Hope to move to TV full time w/i the next few months. We also stayed in the type of home we are planning on purchasing . We found this to be a good idea.

Wish I could help mobruce but I never stayed on the preview plan. I would recommend you call TV and ask what is the process to play more than twice, there are a lot more courses to play and you should try some of the executive courses to see what you think. Myself I think they are great, try Oakleigh, Briarwood, Pelican, Heron, Sandhill, Turtle Mound, Truman, Roosevelt, oh heck try 'em all. Good Luck and ENJOY. GN

If they do give you a choice, try Palmer and Lopez. I would pick Cane Garden and Havana next. I'm sitting in St. Charles right now (Whitmoor CC) shivering. Wish I hadn't cancelled my second month (FEB) at TV. We usually spend Jan/Feb in TV and have come to love the place. You will enjoy any of the championship courses. Have fun.

I was there last April on the "entisement" package. About a week before a representative called me to find out what courses I wanted to play, and what times. She was able to get me both I requested. Unfortunately, they will not allow you more than the two rounds - "have to accommodate the residents".

I would recommend you include Terra del Sol.

When I was there last September I found you could pretty much get on any executive course after 4 or 5 PM.

You can give them your choices and they will try to get you on. Palmer, Lopez, Glenview. Then you probably pay the $3.50 trail fee for the Executive. They will book those for you or you can book them. Have fun!
