Having huge cell problem with dropped calls and no service. Talked with AT&T and they said I could buy a micro cell for $199 which would be refunded through my bills.
Has anyone used this micro cell with good results? I'm thinking maybe I should switch over to Verizon and avoid this hassle all together.
For those of you using Verizon how is that service?

Had to get a booster from Verizon for the same reason. I'm in Hadley - think it depends where you are located. Tell them since they can't provide the service you are paying for they should provide the mini cell. Worked with Verizon.

I used one when I first moved to Pennecamp/Buttonwood before the new tower gave us decent service over here. It did what it said it would, provided good cell phone coverage inside the house. It does, however, use your wireless internet connection to do it's magic.
Back then we were fortunate because the POA had made an arrangement with AT&T so we could get one for $49 (which I was easily able to sell on Ebay once I didn't need it anymore.)

We had very spotty ATT cell phone service inside our house (Fernandina).
ATT gave us (in the form of two monthly credits) a micro cell. It works great. Occasionally needs to be rebooted, no big deal.
A close by neighbor using Verizon also complains about spotty service. Don't know if Verizon has their version of a micro cell.
Cell phone call quality is very "sensitive" to where you are in TV.
All the major cell phone companies claim to be planning more towers.

Thanks for your input. Yep, then I will go ahead and get the micro cell. The cost will be refunded through credits to my bill.

I love my microcell. Bought it on here for $50 from someone. Before you spend the $199 you might see if someone has one for sale. I would also ask to speak with a supervisor and tell them you don't think it is fair to have to pay for a booster when you are already paying for the service. Ask them to discount the microcell to about half price. This worked for a friend.
