Does anyone know of, and recommend an upholstery service in the area?
Thank you for any help you can give.

What kind, furniture or automotive? I used one in Ocala for automotive work.

I wish I could find one for my sofa. I called Aurora in Wildwood, highly recommended. I went to their shop, explained what I wanted. He says he will be at my home next day to look at sofa. Never came. I called again, he said so sorry will come to your home tomorrow. Never showed up, never called. This is not very reliable I said to myself. If you find somebody please post it.

There is an upholstery shop at the intersection of 466A and 25A in Fruitland Park. It's a blue building. A salesman from Southern Lifestyles told me at one time to go there. I just can't remember the name of the operation.

Jackie's Upholstery is the firm I think you're referring to.

No, it is Lake Upholstery or something like that. I hired Jackie's (in Lady Lake) to recover a club chair a few years ago. They did a beautiful job except that the fabric was reversed (inside out). They claimed it was correct. Anyway, I lived with it although the color is somewhat off.

I recently referred them to a friend with the caveat to be sure they put the right side out. This time they did such a poor job that the chair wasn't accepted at all. It was left there.

In my mind, it isn't worth taking the chance of wasting your money on upholstery
(which is not inexpensive any more) plus ruining a chair you love,
by taking a chance with a country bumpkin upholstery place,
if that is your only choice locally.

I would much rather drive the 50 miles to Orlando where you will find someone good.
I would start with recommendations from the Better Business Bureau
after looking up places on the Internet unless you know someone reliable to ask.
I would probably drive there to see their work, also.
Better safe than sorry!
