Been thumbing through Distory: A Treasury of Historical Insults by Robert Schnakenburg. It goes over various politicians and writers insults usually directed at other politicians and writers. Quite funny at times.
Winston Churchill had some very funny barbs:
"Winston, if I were your wife, I would put poison in your coffee. Nancy, if I were your husband, I would drink it." Winston Churchill talking with Conservative politician Nancy Astor.
And this one which many TOTVers probably are already familiar with--
"Winston, you're drunk! Bessie, you're ugly. And tomorrow morning I shall be sober."
Churchill and Labour politician Bessie Braddock.
