Preowned homes and many new homes come with blinds or shades installed, but the new Hadley Village home we closed last week came with uncovered windows (no blinds or shades) as a condition of the discounted price: WYSWYG (what you is what you get).
Can the ladies of TOTV give us some recommendations as to where we could (or should not) shop for blinds and associated treatments?
Thanks
Jim

For our home in Virginia, I bought 2" bass wood blinds from this site and they have been excellent. Real wood is better then the faux wood for wide windows which we had as they are significantly lighter in weight. They will send you color samples, show you how to measure, and then ship them to your door. They were about half the cost of Next Day Blinds or some of the other places that sold them locally. They were also very easy to install.

I went to Blinds 4 Less in Lady Lake - 753-5003. They had a good price and also gave you three privacy shades to stick up while they made your blinds.

Concur with zcaveman that Blinds4Le$$ is a good place. I didn't use them specifically for blinds and/or shades, but they installed a made-to-order screen for the west face of my lanai. Reasonably priced, freindly "associates," and expert installation. They're on 441 just south of Lady Lake's Log Cabin.

I used plantation shutters in both homes and love them. In the first house I used Window Reflections in Wildwood. In the second house I used Joy's Blinds. I like the ones from Joy's more.

We used the Pink House, 48 hr blinds and were happy....they did 14 windows of faux wood, including a nice valance, and the 12 ft slider vertical blinds for about $1,100. They come out and measure each window then deliver and install within 2 days. We figured on raw materials at Home Depot (and some irregular sizes too) would have been at least $800 without the nice valance.

I did my lanai via Lowe's. I measured and they cut and I installed. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. Eventually the blinds collapsed. I then called Blinds 4 Less and in one week I had well functioning blinds.

We just got Bali 2" Fax blinds from Home Depot installed for $100 each. They have a Special $100 each (ANY SIZE) for their 2" Fax slot less blinds with a min of 4 blinds. We did the small ones our self to save a little. We liked the idea of slot less blinds and the installed price was good for slotless. They come out and measure but it takes a couple of weeks.
