Hi Dellie,

While we are not full timers...yet...yours was a good question and looking forward to answer from others.

We all know that CC are not known for high-end gourmet meals but it is nice to have some dilalog amoungst those Villagers that are responsive and address our newbies questions.

Happy Sunday y'all!

Here is a list of the country clubs: https://www.thevillages.com/lifestyle/images/maps/Country_Club_Shops_Rest.pdf

Cane Garden, look under menu for weekly specials: Cane Garden The Villages Menu (http://canegardenthevillages.com/menu/)

Glenview: Our delicious Dinner Menu (http://www.glenviewrestaurant.com/dinner-menu.html)

I don't think Hacienda Hills has a website.

Legacy Legends: Legacy Restaurant at the Nancy Lopez Country Club (http://legacyrestaurant.com/)

I don't think Mallory Hill has a website either. Orange Blossom is closed for renovations.

Palmer Legends: Palmer Legends Country Club - Spirits and Fine Dining - The Villages Florida (http://www.palmerlegendscc.com/lunchmenu.htm)

Tierra Del Sol doesn't have a website.

Hemingway's at Havana; I couldn't find a website.

Bonifay: Home (http://www.bonifaycountryclub.com/)

Evans Prairie: Home (http://www.evansprairierestaurant.com/)

The price of the local newspaper, Daily Sun, is so cheap, to me, it is worth the subscription. They have advertisements daily of lunch and dinner specials for restaurants. Bon appétit. I hope this helps get you started.

Hubby and I went out to dinner last night to celebrate his Birthday. When the waitress presented the bill, we both looked at each other and said, " we are not in the Villages"!
We are here in Ocean City Maryland for the summer where we don't eat out half as much as when we are in TV.
The Villages provides the social life, restaurants and prices that we like at this point in our life. There are no two for $25 dinner special's here!
Oh but we do have have the best Maryland crab cakes! YUM!

Where is your favorite Ocean City restaurant? The lines at Phillip's were always long and it was a tourist place but they always had excellent crab cakes and crab imperial.

Hacienda Hills has a German/Hungarian night on Tuesdays. I particularly enjoy the pork jagerschnitzel with German dumplings. Cane Garden has an Irish Pub night on Thursdays. I like the lamb shank, but we went there last week and they were out of it at only 5:45PM. Prices are very reasonable at both places.

Phillips used to be the place to go. We went to Sunset Grill last night on the water in West Ocean City. Crab Cake Factory and Crab Bag are really good too!

Bonifay has something called What What Wednesday. You can sign up to get an email about what will be on special each Wednesday.

Cane Garden..
Sundays turkey or pork loin dinner includes dump cake for dessert (like a cobbler)
Tuesdays prime rib night
Thursdays Irish pub night corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips, braised lamb shank
Fri & Sats rib eye steak
All these in addition to reg menu.

Mallory has all you can eat wing night on Monday
There is an Italian night, I think on Thursdays

The 2 for $25 at Bonifay and Evans Prairie combined with $3 martinis and margaritas is a good deal and great selection.

Food wise I don't get the specials it's usually because of too much of that item and they are trying to get rid of it

or with wing all u can eat ,, it is the small wings ( pigeon wings) that they could not fry up for the regular orders during the week. just a good way to get rid of them and draw a crowd and sell them overpriced drinks. just good bussiness

Mallory's ribs on Saturdays are to die for. A full rack plus their delicious fries, sweet slaw and even a small serving of baked apple...all for ten bucks, as I recall.

The missus doesn't like ribs, so I don't get there as often as I'd like.

Palmer has a 2 for $50 that includes a bottle of wine, 1 appetizer to share, 2 soup or salads, 2 entrees from a select menu, and 1 dessert. Very nice. Shared items were enough for 2.

Also like Cane Garden's Sunday Carving Board.

Is this every day, or on a special day? That sounds like a deal!

The type of specials you're talking about would be more of the 'impromptu' type, the CC and regularly offered restaurant specials are planned for and as such are not used to dump overstock, you are missing out!

It is everyday at Palmer. Am not sure of the hours as the hours posted on the door are not the same as in the paper. 750-4499

I agree. Many of these specials are advertised in the Daily Sun many days in advance. I might worry if a special went up on the white board at 9 PM.

I also remember when Chula Vista had a restaurant and advertised the main menu for "day one" on "day two" as a special lunch. Most of us knew that it was the left overs from "day one". But the pot roast was still tasty!!! And the potions were large. I am so sad that they got rid of the Chula Vista restaurant for that reason only. Play golf at Mira mesa or Chula Vista and have a great lunch at Chula Vista.
