Morgan & Morgan for the people!

Bogie . . . Do you have any experience with them
or are you only going by their TV commercials?

What's with the bold and centered text?
I know, I know ... I'm probably the only one who finds it annoying and I don't know why!
It looks like advertising, I guess.
Just sayin'...

No experience. What difference does it make?

I have wondered about that too.

Bogie is probably like most of us. A senior citizen who not once has needed the services of a consumer lawyer.

I'm guessing he was poking a little fun at a FREQUENTLY seen commercial on TV.

What is a consumer defense attorney? Sounds like someone who defends a consumer?

I doubt Morgan & Morgan do consumer defense. From the sound of their ads, they're on the other side. Talk to your insurance company. If it is something not covered by insurance, they might at least be able to give you the name of some law firms that they use for overflow work.

They are hard to find. I tried some of the large firms that advertise, and I feel if they don't think they can make the big bucks, they are not interested. I did a web search in the area based on my specific needs and found an attorney in Gainesville that I have been pleased with. Case is still in progress.

I thought the same thing.....maybe like an attorney who defends a consumer being sued by a company for giving the company bad reviews online:shrug:

NYGUY, I googled it and found one reference to a firm. It said this:

"Consumer Defense Attorneys is a law firm that assists homeowners who are having a hard time affording their mortgage by negotiating a workout strategy with the investor that owns the loan."

So maybe it is for people who may be foreclosed upon.

CFrance, I don't have a mortgage so that is not correct. Obviously, you didn't do the correct research. Look up consumer protection; it has to do with fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices. Something you see plenty of these days.

Sorry. I was googling consumer defense attorney, not consumer protection, because that was what newvillages asked for in the original post.

Thanks for the explanation.

Sorry it annoys you but you read it, right?

That's the idea!

No experience. What difference does it make?

Personally, I think it makes a lot of difference, especially if you are giving a recommendation to someone.
A recommendation is based on a genuine personal situation or referral --
your own or one you personally know about, not a TV commercial.

Otherwise, it's tantamount to opening the yellow pages, closing your eyes and pointing, no?

I take it back - it's NOT the bolded, centered text that annoys me.

I was looking for someone who defends you against a collection agency.

My guess is that you need an attorney who specializes in litigation.

The text is centered as if it were a title or poetry, calling attention and slowing the reader's eye. And bold to add significance, as if it were an advertisement.

If it is annoying, perhaps it is because the layout and font tricks the reader into an expectation that is unfulfilled and not in keeping with normal textual conversation.
