Learned today that I had a third cousin in the room next door to where the shootings took place at NIU. Scary. >:(

From my mother and father's family two sisters married two brothers. My mother and her sister married my father and his brother. So, yes they are a bit closer than many other families. And the family is all originally from Itasca, Illinois which is just outside of Chicago near O'Hare.
