There is an interesting legal notice in the Daily Sun Classifieds today: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE ADOPTION OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2015 BUDGET AND NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING WILDWOOD SPRINGS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT. It is scheduled for Aug. 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wildwood Community Center, 6500 Powell Road, Wildwood.

I seem to recall that this was discussed back about seven years ago right when the economy tanked. One of the caveats to them building was that the Wildwood downtown area was to be "re-branded." Maybe this wasn't the same development, but it sure sounds the same.

The CDD was formed in Sept 2011.

All I wanted was to move to a small town environment where i could go to the local coffee shop talk a little politics sports and play a little golf. Who knew The Villages would turn out to be DisneyWorld in prime season all year long

I've often wondered if the decision to eliminate or delay the turnpike interchange at 468 was the developer's response to this project. 468 runs right to the project, and having the interchange would help with getting materials to the site more quickly and cheaply from Orlando.

Although the change from the 468 interchange to improving the 301 exit may also help the project as well, just not as much. :shrug:
