The article in this mornings paper labels the Brooklyn Bridge as "....one of New York City's most heavily secured landmarks..."

The media driven by politicians covering their a$$ will try to label it a prank or this or that to minimize the facts.

The task was extremely well planned, with covers for the floodlights, and flags ready, timing of the event......and not ONE SINGLE HINT OF DETECTION during the entire process from start to finish.

No harm done. Wrong. It is a signal to every terrorist foreign or home grown no harm in giving it a go regardless the WORDS about security.

The video gives a little more insight to what should be an alarming wake up call:

Mystery Deepens Around White Flags Flying on Brooklyn Bridge - ABC News (http://abcnews.go.com/US/mysterious-white-flags-fly-place-american-flags-brooklyn/story?id=24662426)

Think about it:

"....one of New York City's most heavily secured landmarks..."

It seems a lot of people were sleeping on the job in this SNAFU. I remember that news anchor Diane Sawyer threw out there that this might have been an "art project". That's putting your and others' live and limbs in jeopardy for what? It does demonstrate weak security.

Let's face it, security is pretty much non-existent in this world. If someone wants to do something and is willing to die to do it, that individual is nigh impossible to stop without a lot of luck. Ask any Secret Service agent trying to protect our POTUS (and I don't think there is better security anywhere in the world than that).

On the plus side, this can show the weaknesses at the Brooklyn Bridge and help make corrections (until the next stunt). Personally, rather than condemning the individuals who flew these flags, I think we should give them a hat's off and a big thanks for giving the NYPD, et al., a chance to improve security and showing at least one weakness.

I am sure there were some big time chewing outs at the agencies responsible for bridge security. Security will be beefed up for a while but will slack off as time goes by - until the next time. Hopefully, the next time will be a "stunt", too.

That does seem how these things go.

How about when some teenagers werre able to enter the new building at the 9/11 site? That couldn't even be mislabeled as an art project.
