Does anyone know where the developer gets his furniture now that Showcase Direct and Southern Lifestyles are gone? We bought an unfurnished home but like a dining table set we saw in a furnished one (Didn't like anything else in there). Tried City Furniture and there was nothing even close.

The developer does not do furnished models anymore. That's one of the reasons they sold off the furniture stores.

We just closed on a home with Southern Lifestyles furniture. We still do have a warranty company that handles the warranty. I am not sure if they purchased it before they closed but they will still warranty it for a year. We have a seperate number we can call for that. We also checked out the furniture on line to make sure it was good, we bought sight unseen and Babettes carried what was in our house. You might want to try calling there.

Not sure about that. I have a client that just purchased a home fully furnished about 2 weeks ago.

They still sell new furnished homes. We saw two in the new section in Charlotte. That's where I saw the table. Thanks for the advice. I'll try Babettes.

They don't furnish them anymore, according to a realtor I went house hunting with with my friend. The homes she showed us that were furnished were from before they quit building models and furnishing them. They quit building models too, around the time they quit allowing people to pick a lot and build from scratch.

They are still selling new furnished homes. Look at the new home listings. Antrim Dells has several furnished homes and it is one of the newest sections of TV. We bought our CYV furnished from Southern Lifestyles a year ago. Loved the FL style furniture...The new furnishings are normally dark in the newer homes and I was just assuming they came out of Ciry Furniture as that is what they carry. So glad our furniture came from Southern Lifestyles and Showcase Direct!

City Furniture has a website you can go to and they have a LOT more than you see in their stores. Cityfurniture.com CF has had many bad reviews on this site, but if you are willing to take the chance, they have a lot of furniture and probably everything you need. I took the chance and bought a $6000 complete bedroom set that I love. I put it on layaway, which was easy to do and pay a bit monthly on it until I can have it delivered when I get there in January.

As I write this, there are twenty seven new furnished homes listed on TV's web pages. Very few appear to be models or former models. However, there is one lovely Bridgeport at 2907 CANARY PL that would make a lovely gift if anyone has a great deal of money burning a hole in your pocket.

Good point! I have to say, also, it was a sales agent, not a MLS realtor.

If you call the number at the sales office, they can connect you to someone who will know the answers. They do such lovely decorating and I bet that Tracey Matthews has the designers on her staff.

On occasion, I fully agree with you about the quality of the decorating. However, those cases (IMO) tend to be the exception and not the rule. For example, the Bridgeport I mentioned was a model and it looks lovely. On the other hand, I would categorize the vast majority of furnished homes as offering "minimalist" decor.

My friend who posts on here bought a furnished home about five years ago. We enjoyed going all around and looking at the price tags of the accessories. At that time they were lovely and expensive and very well done.

Ours which was purchased this month has good quality furniture (we investigated prior to purchase) with everything in it including curtains, blinds, artificial greenery & even a couple of towels. We are extremely picky when it comes to the quality of our furniture & we couldn't be happier with their choices.

Although I have heard the Villages will only install a bed frame headboard and not the entire bed assembly which consists of headboard, footboard and rails. Leading one to spend thousands to complete what the bed frame manufacturer originally designed.

You have heard? That is a ridiculous statement, but then again there are so many rumors floating around and no way to verify them. Least of which are TV sales agents who are not bound by any rules that the outside MLS agents have to adhere to. They can and may say anything to sell a home.

And MLS agents will do ANYTHING to get a listing. Including telling the seller they can get a higher price by going with them instead of TV whose listing prices are accurate the first time.

I apologize for my misstatement. I have first hand knowledge of this information.

We had to replace our mattress recently which was purchased at Southern Lifestyles. We went to an enormous warehouse off CR462 which was filled with furniture. Salesperson said furniture is used to furnish some homes and new commercial properties.

What is the name of this store and where on 462?
