The Rotary Club of the Villages has just completed their efforts to raise funds to sponsor a medical mission to a Mayan area in Mexico. We are partnering with Florida Hospital Shares Foundation. Hospital medical personnel and other professionals and staff have volunteered their time to travel to the site and perform Cleft Lip and Palate operations on more than 100 children and will also provide other medical services and speech therapy for the children. The mission has a second objective to train personnel in the local hospital in proceedures and provide needed medical supplies and equipment so that they might be able to perform these procedures on a year round basis. The operation changes the lives of children and their families immediately and forever.
Our club along with the support of 24 other Rotary Clubs in Central Florida raised $80,000 to make this mission of mercy and love possible. Much of the money came from direct contributions by Rotarians, and a significant portion came from the funds raised in this community. TV residents can be proud of their support of our fund raising events and confident that those funds go to alleviate pain and suffering both in country and around the world.
Thanks you Villagers and others.:BigApplause:
