An author friend of mine ( 88 years young) did something stupid when he saved his newest revision of a 210 page novel. Not sure what he did but he asked me to help him correct it. It seems every the every qluotation mark is replaced with a capital "A" instead of a quotation mark (") i tried search and replace but all 'A" throught the document become quotation marks. Any one with any suggestions how to correct this formatting issue? Thanks

On the replace pop up window, click "more."
Then select "Match case"
That will get you close, then run spelling and grammar check to find the rest of the errors. A human edit will probably be necessary to finalize.

This MIGHT be simpler than you think, try the undo function, I have been amazed at how well this works.....sometimes.

It is possible that he did an Auto-correct and changed the A to a ". Try looking at the Autocorrect feature and see it that is the problem.
It is doubtful but he might have accidently put it in the custom directory. Check that also.

I think that only works if you haven't saved the doc.

He might have added it to the dictionaries auto correct feature. To check this feature, right click on any misspelled word. on the context menu that pops up, place your mouse over "autocorrect" and on the next menu there is a choice for "AutoCorrect Options". Hope this helps.

Select all and change the font. The one he is using doesn't seem to have quotation marks.
