A lot of seniors require cataract surgery.
I wonder about tattoo dye being used in sensitive areas.
None of us want to have anything jeopardize our vision.
My Opthamologist (of course) says absolutely not.
But I would Love to have this done.

I really want both permanent eyebrows and eyeliner! One hesitation I have is that we are only in TV for two weeks at a time. We will be there in November but 5 days we will be on our Villages' cruise.

I freaked out the last time I ordered my favorite mascara. It had a sticker on the box that read "contains ingredients known to cause cancer"! Yikes! I sent the mascara back!

Permanent eyeliner does not last and has to be reapplied....unless they've come up with a truly permanent method...

How long did the eyeliner last? I look like death warmed over without eyeliner! Some days I can really mess up my liquid eyeliner!

I have had eyebrows and liner on upper and lower lids done by Sharie Gardner at Cal's in Spanish Springs on Del Mar. Excellent. I have it touched up as necessary. Sharie tells me when I need it. I. Check I with her about every year when the snow birds leave. Phone 352-391-5842

I have had eyebrow and eyeliner for about 8 years. I love it. But it does fade. Mine will need to be redone soon. The eyebrows have really faded. The eyeliner is still there enough to look nice, but is not as dark as it once was.

I am still working and commuting, When I retire in Sept, I will definitely have both touched up.

Sable99, It does take a week or so to heal. Doing it while in TV seems ideal, as you are in sunglasses there most of the time anyway. While healing it will flake and initially look a bit like a sharpie was used. But trust me...it fades into a much softer look soon enough and you will love it!

It is so great to wake up with some color. Even if I don't use mascara, (which is seldom, I admit) I still feel presentable.

I cannot answer any questions about permanent eyeliner, but I would like to offer a suggestion that might help those of you who waiver on the idea.

Maybe give Le Crayon Poudre by Lancôme a try. This is actually a powder pencil for eyebrows but it works great for me as an eyeliner. The tip is soft but not too soft. It is easy to control.

You can smudge it a little if you so choose to soften the line for a more natural look. You know that old rule about accenting the eye not the eye makeup. If I get too much on, I just dab at it with my trusty Almay Eye-Makeup Remover Pads. You can find those in the Almay section at the drugstore.

I can line my eyes in less than a minute and that's for both eyes.

Of course, because it is a department store line, or maybe because of the French name, Le Crayon Poudre costs a silly amount of money. I think about 26 bucks, maybe more. I have been using it since it was 20 bucks and I remember thinking that was ridiculous. But I keep showing up at that Lancôme counter from time to time for another one.

The other thing to know about this pencil is that somehow the sharpener is proprietary. It looks exactly like those pencil sharpeners we all had in our school supplies, but I am convinced that the Lancôme sharpener does not chew up the pencil as fast. The Lancôme sharpener used to cost 5 dollars but it is probably more now.

The color I use is sable which works fine for me. In fact, when you look at the colors, it might be that sable is the only one dark enough to work as an eyeliner. Remember this is officially an eyebrow pencil so I think the other colors are lighter.

Anyway, if you want to try this pencil, there is a Lancôme counter at Belk in the stripmall near Spanish Springs.

Even if you do not try one, it's fun to say, "Le Crayon Poudre."
