Any idea where I can have this looked at before buying a new printer?
It's an Epson Artisan 810, all-in-one printer. The printing part is fine, it just won't feed the paper

Liana:

When my printer did the same thing a couple of years ago, I was told by folks at both Staples and Best Buy: "It's not worth getting fixed. It'll cost more than a new one!"

Not exactly what oone wanted to hear, but I bought a new printer for less than $150 and love it!

You might have something stuck in the paper track. See if you can force a thick piece of paper through it. Assume you have already looked for an obstruction.

before buying a new printer, check to make sure you are printing from the paper tray and not a photo paper feed tray. This has happened to me, and I never print pictures. Still not sure how the settings get changed.

I'm afraid it's history... I looked at new printer prices and they are reasonable.
I think these companies should GIVE you the printer since you have to pay forever for high-priced ink!
Okay, That was my rant-for-this-week ;-)

Also what's new and now affordable are the wireless printers. I love sitting with my laptop in the living room and being able to print something out in the den without having to move the laptop to the den and plug it in to the printer.

And they are really easy to set up nowadays, unlike several years ago. We got ours for $90 a few years ago. Worth every penny.
