I thought everybody had freedom of thought and expression of it, under the Bill of Rights. A club for that sounds exclusive and closed.

"Free thinker" usually connotes atheism? Is that what you mean?

There is no need to apostrophize for being a freethinker.

Actually, if the club belongs to free thinkers, then the apostrophe would be appropriate.

“The apostrophe usually is not used if ‘for’ or ‘by’ rather than ‘of’ would be appropriate in the longer form,” such as “a college for teachers.”

Free Thinkers deserve just as much respect as does any religion. Freedom of choice. Is that a problem for some?

Your handle creates a paradox for a "free thinker."

The author also goes on to say that the Chicago Manual of Style, which was our editing bible at work along with Strunk's, prefers the apostrophes. Thus we always captioned Farmers' Market. Although I have rarely seen a sign for the Ladies' Room.

As long as it's not A Market for Farmer's, I'm okay with either of the above!

Based on the responses thus far, I would say the answer is no.

I thought we were talking about persons exclusively qualified to think, who asked their inferiors how to find a club which the inferiors are not intellectual enough to join.
