Have not been contributing to the blog lately as I am spending my second full summer at Snowshoe Mountain, WV.

This is a ski resort in the Winter and a nice cool 65 - 72 degree plus daily high temp . Lows have dipped to 45 since we got here on July 13th.

Golf course is very nice and outdoor activities are abundant.

If you go to or from home on I 77 or I 81 you should stop for a week or two to cool off.

Here is resort info.

Do they have monthly rates? All I see on their website are daily rates.

As a Mountaineer I can tell you that every course in the state has 9 uphill holes and 9 downhill holes. I remember one we called "the goat farm" where I had to try to land my drive TWO fairways above the green I wanted to wind up on so that the ball could bounce down to my green. Them's some serious mountains, folks! Of course, in Florida, sand traps are easy to build; just don't plant grass there and you have a sand trap. I look forward to playing at The Villages when we rent in January-March 2015. We'll be off No. 5 green on Rainbow Drive of the Silver Lake course.

Snowshoe Mountain -- even the name is refreshing.

Thanks for the thread. It looks very interesting.

Since we no longer have a home in the north east we are always looking for new ideas for a future summer adventure. I never think of WV and cool temperatures in the summer, great to know...
