Amazing how young these little girls are (8 years old - 13 years old)...

This is the way our national anthem should be sung...

Thank You Brightspot,

I have decided not to post anymore but, You have addressed one of my pet peeves and I just had to say thank you. Those little girls (Bless their hearts) have just taught Roseanne and all those rock super stars how our National Anthem should be sung. It's about our country and our love of it, not an ego trip for performers.

One more time, Thank You.

Aside from the wonderful voices and harmony, the poise of those young girls is just as impressive.

Thanks Brightspot

Brings tears to my eyes and renewed faith in our young people, at least some of them.

I teach in a small town in a 3rd-5th grade school with only 15 teachers. I am blessed in a district that allows us to make a choice whether to have our students say the Pledge of Allegiance or not. I do because I believe it is important for our children to honor our country by pledging allegiance to it.

However, I am the only one in my grade who chooses to do this.

At the beginning of the school year, I teach the meaning of the Pledge. I teach how to show respect while saying the Pledge. Because I work with young children, I repeat and repeat and repeat the meaning of our Pledge of Allegiance throughout the year.

I was enlightened to learn that one of our new 5th grade teachers went one step further. He has his students learn the National Anthem and they sing it every day. In fact, they came to my classroom and performed it for us.

I'm thinking...yes, a good idea for me to do, also. What a great start to every morning!

Thanks so much, Brightspot! That was very cool. I agree that learning the Pledge of Allegiance is important. Our grand-daughter's kindergarten class says the Pledge every day, too.

They did a beautiful job on the anthem and I don't feel that there should ever be new arrangements for our countries anthem.

I have just finished listening to The Cactus Cuties sing the National Anthem for the 3rd time. They are great. I have not heard a better National Anthem sung, ever! Thanks for telling us about them.

I don't know about the other performers down at the squares, but Kip Sweeny always starts his night with our National Anthem. It is great.

pajames and everyone else...you are so very welcome. I'll pass the thanks on to my friend who sent it to me. He is a very loyal and patriotic Army retiree. He'll be happy to know that others enjoyed listening to the young girls outstanding performance.
