Can anyone refer us to a great back doctor? Back pain is chronic and has been long standing and I want to get it fixed. But I hear such horror stories that I'm reluctant to go. I'm wondering about Shands or Mayos. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

go see Dr. Payman at spine intervention specialist, he is recommending highly by the best neurosurgeons in the area. He has a 5 star rating on health grades, and is the best around. I've used him to help me get back to my quality of life that i missed for so long. His number is 352-391-1750

Dr. Daniel Spurrier...a neurosurgeon who does non-evasive surgery. Go for an evaluation, if you need or don't need surgery he can tell and help you! He had an ad in yesterday's paper!

I got "he's the best!" from everyone I saw prior to surgery (which was an emergency too btw)...Urgent Care, ambulance people, the ER, the folks on the surgery floor and the home-healthcare folks as well. I think if you read the local publications here in T.V. there is a majority of providers who do in fact advertise. Dr. Spurrier would be my 1st choice all the way around if I'm having back issues and possible surgery!!

I agree with those who recommend Dr. Spurrier; however, I have been unable to contact him for several weeks. No answering machine, phone just rings. So I am now in need of a neuro-surgeon.
