We are going to enclose our standard lanai to be able to sit out all year round. There are so many companies willing to do this and so many different estimates. Looking for great service first and a great price. Would love photo's of a standard lanai. Changed our minds about the knee wall. Leaning towards sliders. What do you think? Thanks for your help. Love our lanai sliders. Wish we had done it 2 years earlier. We're getting much more use out of our lanai. We used Custom Windows in Leesburg. They run a huge ad in the paper every day. They have a showroom where you can see the different sliders. Very easy to get to. They were a great company to work with and you don't lose the use of your lanai while waiting for your glass to come in. Very happy with their professionalism and price.
We had gotten estimates from 8 different companies.

I live in Southern Star Villas and the owner of CVS Construction lives a few doors away. Out of 88 villas I have seen their sign in at least 30 yards, he pretty much has owned our community. I haven't had mine enclosed, but my golfing partner did and everyone else I've talked to love their work. http://www.cvswindows.com/

We also used Custom Windows in Leesburg and are very happy with the result. We wanted to maintain the feel of the lanai as a lanai and not another room in the house (does this make sense?). Custom Windows installed sliders with the same brown frames as were on the lanai and screening of about the same color as originally installed.
We also had the floor done in river rock by Mid-State Stone and truly appreciated they efforts to get the flooring done just right.
BTW - in Michigan, this type of room was called a Florida Room. What is it called here?

Elite Lifestyles is going to do ours also. I have seen some that they have done and they look great. The only problem seems to be getting them to start! I can't wait til it's finished and we can use it. I'm so excited!

Same here-----don't know why we waited so long to enclose our lanai---we did have to wait a couple of months for them to start but they did a wonderful job.

We had T&D Screen Enclosures install our sliding glass doors. We had heavy duty, vinyl, argon filled, doors put in. T&D was the best in my opinion. They level the lanai floor so you don't step down into your lanai. They set the doors in a special slot in the cement so they don't rely on caulking to waterproof. They don't use a bead of cement to level the doors on the sides as some other companies do. Over time this wedge of cement can break down, especially with the installation of heavy sliding doors. In addition they need to rely on a thick bead of caulk to waterproof under the doors and this is prone to breaking down over the years and then it leaks. Not fun if you have nice furniture or a finished floor on the lanai. By leveling the floor with additional cement you can also put electrical outlets on the outside columns. T&D did an outstanding job for us.

We just had Custom Windows enclose our lanai. Jeff (1 of the owners) came out for the estimate. He gave us some great ideas. The work was done on time . They were a very professional operation. I would highly recommend them.
