I took a couple of watercolor classes from Jan Ramsey. I really enjoyed them! It was a good learning experience, and it was also a nice way to meet people if you're new in the area, because everyone in the class has the same interest. One thing I noticed, was that some of the classes tend to fill up quickly. You have the option of becoming a "patron" or something like that, which gives you the ability to register early, ahead of regular residents. You might want to consider that if the class(es) you're interested in are very popular. Good luck!

I take a Yoga class from the Lifelong Learning College. The instructor is fantastic. Class is $53 for 8 weeks. This said I also attend a Qijong class which is given by volunteers and is free. These instructors are also good. It all depends what interests you.

I haven't taken any courses at LLLC because there are tons of free activies offered by TV every day and paid for by our amenities. Plus pool, golf, pickleball, etc. I don't have time to fit in half the free stuff offered!!

I am like barefoot...why spend money when there is so much to do for free. At saddlebrook, the sketching and painting class has members who went to the college and found the free class better and more fun. Same with the yoga at Savannah-people like the free class. I have a friend who paid for classes in computer and line drancing. She found she learned more at computer club and the free line dancing classes at rec centers.

I've taken Zen, just to see what it's all about and loved it. I'm now signed up for Line Dancing for Dummies, Desserts for Dummies, and Hor D'oeuvre for Dummies. Do you see a pattern here? Anyway, I love the Lifelong College because I can try sooooo many new and interesting things. The is a huge variety of classes. And you meet more and more new friends. I also do some of the free activities. I personally just think the college is such a plus here, it was one of the enticing reasons we decided to move to TV. I love learning and trying new things and there's never a time when I can't find anything new to explore. You'll love it.

:agree: :agree: Enjoy all of the classes that I have taken! Have been here a year and have taken Computer Business cards (making them), Genealogy, Hors DOeuvres for Dummies (very funny and filling) Country Partner dancing, Digital Scrapbook and~~~~~ Line dancing was really excellent! Not a congestion of tons of people that you had to be a hour early to gain admission. Maybe I really have a left foot but I tried Laural Manor and could not even move or see the person teaching. Plus you have to know the terms that the person calls out for the moves. We do the free things also but prefer to pay when necessary. Lots of people must feel the same way as some are difficult to sign up for such as the Dummy ones. I belong to the Village Idiots club so guess that is why I like the Dummy classes. My opinion is that this is such a perk to have this in our backyard that we like to support it! We are also Patron members of the College so our fees are not as high. 040 040

I wanted to learn more about the Civil War so I took a class on Civil War History. It was very interesting and informative.

Last week we took, "Conversation With A Holocaust Survivor". This was a wonderful presentation at Colony Cottages under Lifetime Learning. I've read a lot about the Holocaust, but to hear a first hand account was very, very moving.
In Jan we took Lewis and Clark--Confluence of time and Courage. It was a great program.
Also in Jan we saw Thomas Edison-Man of the Millennium
Thomas Edison was portrayed by Frank Attwood. Another great presentation
I was in the hospital, but my husband saw "Presidents and Their First Ladies: Dramatically Speaking" Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Portrayed by William and Sue Wills.
He was very impressed.
