I guess this wind has blown my dishes around. The satellite signal is gone on two birds.
Anybody out there with a SS meter that knows how to peak dishes? Dish can't get here til Tuesday. Thank goodness I get basic cable....which I get in HD ,thanks to the QAM tuner, Fumar.

You get basic cable and also have Dishnet...I assume you have basic cable to save on Comcast internet fees but you use Dish net for your everyday Tv signal. Correct!

784, I aimed my last comment to Fumar. I'm samhass. I have both because I can't get my locals in HD from Dishnet. With Comcast I get HD locals. I've had HD since they've had a broadcast signal in HD in the Philadelphia area. You get used to it and digital looks second rate. I use Embarq for internet here and I have FIOS in Phila.
If your cable and (OH NO) your dish also goes out, READ a good book, Just a thought

Do you happen to know what speed your embarq is.....and do you like it ?????
at one time I had .07 then then raised it to 1.5 and still didn't like it so I dropped it..........sense then I've heard that if I had gone to .30 that I would have liked it........What do you think ??????????????????

We've got Embarq 3.0 here in TV - in NY we had cable, and I have not noticed a significant difference in downloading or speed, and I work with lots of pictures and video clips. As part of the bundle package with dish it's really inexpensive, too.

I'm not sure what speed Embarq has. I've never had a problem with speed.
And BUC...I do read.
Sorry, just my poor attempt at humor.
