The Village Transportation shuttle from Lake Sumter has been sold to a new owner. My understanding is it will only have larger buses and will go to and from the airport less frequently.

So sorry to hear this. I've used the service and hope it can keep going, yet understand how hard it probably is to do this profitably.

We used to use the shuttle that would pick you up or drop you at your home but they became so popular with people in Leesburg and would take you so far out of your way, we opted for the Lake Sumter shuttle. Yesterday, after just missing my earlier shuttle and getting in to the latter one, I heard the company was changing hands...or already has..and a change will be it will run less frequently. This, of course, translates into longer times to get to TV or longer times sitting in the airport. Not happy.

Interesting, I just called them as I will be using the service over the next few days and they said no changes................

I am sure that is what a driver said, and I am sure that is what they said when you called. I am sure they both believed that they were telling the truth. I trust the validity of both posters.
Someone said a bus company from Orlando bought it.(A RUMOR, I don't know this for sure) I wonder what the real deal is? Maybe they will be an advertiser on here so we can ask them questions. Does anyone know the name of the people who bought it?
I hope it won't be less frequent. Because that would be a real downer.
I think that when The Villages ran it, it was perfect. But you all know I am biased.

If you go to their website you can get their schedule information. As far as whether or not it is actually sold it might be. It might also be that Morse & Co. is leasing their operations to another company to run which takes people off Morse's payroll and puts them on someone else's. Since they are in business to MAKE money I doubt that they will curtail services.

"It also might be"?? Whole lot of conjecture. Plus Morse & Co. had already sold it to a private owner several years ago.
I don't understand people who disdain the concept of MAKING money when you have to SPEND money in order to make it. Businesses can't stay operational and offer jobs for very long when they aren't making as much as they have to spend.

At what point did I DISDAIN people making money?? I suggested that since they were in business to MAKE money it would not make sense for them to curtail services. What exactly is DISDAINFUL about that??
