Something really funny happened with me today. I bought a new television for the bedroom which was a replacement for an old television (the kind with the big back and a picture tube).
I called the trash pickup guy and was told they would pick it up tomorrow morning and I should have the old tv out on the curb at 6am.
We took it to the curb around 3:45 this afternoon; I looked outside around an hour later - it was gone! Someone had actually taken an old television in the middle of the afternoon. Naturally, I do not care who or why it was taken.
I have seen other things outside like chairs or tables to be taken - but an old style television that the Salvation Army told me they would not take!

If it works, great that someone can find a use for it. For some of the lawn workers, this tv could be a great thing or possibly a VIllager can put it to use in a spare room or a game tv for grands.
And don't knock those old TV'S. I still have three of em. Too cheap to buy a new one since mine still work and size and picture quality not that important.

Hubby and I just last week dropped off 4 old TVs at our local Salvation Army and they were very happy to get them. They told us they sell like hot cakes because the interior can be scapped for gold, copper, and aluminum. Did a little further reseach about this when we got home and found several youtube videos on the scrapping process which were pretty interesting.

It's the old story . . .
One man's trash is another man's treasure.

I actually bought one for my lanai which is not enclosed. No fear of losing it by theft or weather.
