Humidity Frizzies

To the ladies suffering with the terminal frizzies! Have your tried John Frieda Frizz Ease products? They have a Moisture Barrier hairspray which is quite good and a newish product called Secret Weapon Touch-up Creme which I really like. It is very light weight, just smooth between your fingers and run your fingers through your hair. Unfortunately, my frizzies do not drop into gorgeous tight little curls, I get enormous giant wings over my ears which get bigger and more fly away as the day goes on. This new creme helps to control that.

My hairdresser also suggested I try some of the newer Moroccan oil products, but I am concerned that they might be too heavy and I could end up looking like I've used Crisco!

Anyone used Moroccan oil yet?

I also tried Paul Mitchell, but did not like it at all. Felt like plastic.

My salon says the frizzys are due to dry hair. Try a light leave in conditioner on the ends only

Yes. The Moroccan oil you refer to is Argan oil.
It does help but having humidity frizzed hair for my entire life, I have found there is no real cure.
Real short hair helps or hair long enough to pull back in a pony tail is the only answer, I fear!
I've spent hundreds of dollars on stuff to no real avail.

Argan oil is good for a lot of things.
However, be careful where you buy it and make sure it is 100% Argan oil.
The 100% is your clue.
It is not inexpensive and often other additives are put in the making of it.
It should never be in a clear bottle -- always in a brown bottle.
It's good for a lot of things besides your hair such as your cuticles, hands, etc.

It's a great product for many things and worth trying.

If you get good oil it won't make your hair greasy. My hair gets weighed down with any product, including mousse, hair spray, etc. My daughter gave me some Moroccan oil and I loved it. I have also found that I am tired of fighting the curls and have given up! Funny thing is, I walked into Lowes the other day with my hair a total mess and the first woman I ran into told me she loves my haircut.

I'm assuming your Moroccan Oil is 100% Argan oil.
At any rate, you should only be using a few drops, depending upon the length of your hair.
That could be the reason your hair is greasy.

I always use a "keep in" product in my hair. Make sure there is no alcohol in the product. It will keep your hair soft. The creamy ones are best for frizzies. John Frieda's are nice. I also like Tresemme and Not your Mother's. A little dab will do yuh.

Love organic argan oil for my face and skins. Absorbs quickly.

Tried on my hair and it did make it a little greasy. Maybe I used too much.

Getting ready to be full timers here in paradise and thinking of going the short hair route. I have curly, frizzy hair.

Thanks for the information on NYM's hair products, have never heard about them before. Just did a search for them and see that they have a huge range of products available at WalMart. I also found someone from Singapore asking where to buy the products in Asia - so word is getting around and the product must be worth a try.

Have a very attractive girl friend who "used" to be a natural strawberry blonde/redhead. She spends hours straightening her hair, but when she uses a curl cream and just lets it dry it is gorgeous.

I have just come back from a cruise to the Southern Caribbean and was it ever hot and humid - one day it reached 120 degrees with 100% humidity. I went into the cosmetic section on the ship and spoke to a lady from the UK who works with the cosmetics and travels all over the world with the ship. She told me to get off at the next stop and buy Coconut Milk Shampoo. I found one by Organix which cost $8 for 3.fl.ozs.

I shampooed with the coconut milk shampoo and absolutely loved the results - it calmed the frizzies and was very smooth and silky. On returning to TV I found the same line in Publix but the bottle was twice as big and cost just $7.00.

If you suffer the frizzies give this coconut milk a try. I love the results and I also love the scent. I have not yet tried the oil because right now I don't need it.

My solution to the frizzies is Thermal Spring Water by Avene. It's real purpose is a cooling spray for your face but the sales rep for the product told my esthatician to spray it on your hair before you blow dry. There is silicone in the product that coats the hair, hence, no frizzies.
