If I become a resident of TV I will be as fulltimer cuz I don't want to be in the position of owning two residences. I tried that when I relocated from Miami to Oregon and it was very stressful having to deal with tenants from 3,000 miles away. So my question is:

What's it really like in TV during the hot summer months of June, July, August, September ??? Does anyone play golf in that heat ? I am familiar with Florida's heat and humidity, having lived in Miami-Dade for 40+ years, but I understand it's even hotter in central Florida.

Can anyone tell me, so I will prepared ::)

I find you get used to it fairly quickly. We are also blessed with some nice breezes. It's not as crowded and I think it's wonderful here in the summertime.

I find it is not so much the heat here, but the sun on the skin. Shade is the way to tolerate the summer, also pools, and inside AIR CONDITIONING. Imagine living here without AC as they must have years ago?? :o

Having also lived in SoFlo for the past 28 years, I know what the heat is all about. I actually did research online about average highs/lows compared to Boca, and it was approx. 2 degrees warmer for the average high in July/August, something like 94 to 92. Now, the way I have found, once you're hot as all get out, 2 more degrees doesn't make it eponentially worse, so to speak. The big thing about being in the north central part of Florida, as opposed to South Florida, is that the summer doesn't last NEARLY as long, and starts later also. All the years I have been here, some of the worst hot days and weeks, have been in September, and even thru the first half of October. So I am REALLLY looking forward to moving up "north".

We play afternoon golf all summer several times a week. Just have to keep hydrated.

Summer is my favorite time here.
I golf in the afternoons; I think it's better than the morning cuz the mornings have no breeze.
And the pools........ ahhhhh
And the evening are great too. Warm, no jackets, no sweaters, no sides down on the cart!
I can't wait !

We have been here full time almost three years. I found that we aclimated very quickly. I go to the pool early in the morning and am home by noon or 1 p.m. You do things indoors on very hot days during the warmest hours of 12-3. The evenings are wonderful. Best part of Summer is the Winter residents go back up North and traffic is lighter; restaurants are more accessible; even Church is less crowded. We do love Summers here. We moved here to avoid the cold and we have done just that!!!!!

We visited TV in July and it was hotter and more humid here in Chicago than it was in TV. The evenings had a wonderful breeze and it was very nice sitting outdoors. One of the things I noticed is TV didn't seem to have any mosquitoes like there up up North. Is it my imagination or do mosquitoes not exist in TV?

To me, it's not the heat, but the humidity that gets you. How bad is the humidity in TV?

Here in good ol' Delaware it's a killer in the summer--even at the shore.

You noticed right , for some reason there are very few skeeters in the villages ...........Not sure why but I know they have to have an ID like everyone else.............

If you miss the mosquitoes, I'll bring some back from the wetlands along the Jersey coast. Jersey skeeters are world famous for their size. They've been seen swooping down on rabbits and small game lifting them off the ground and flying away with them. I will throw in a couple of greenheads. If you've ever been on the Jersey beaches in a west wind, you will know all about those greenheads. I kinda miss the little buggers down here and would be happy to bring some back from our summer pilgrimage to the Jersey shore.

I heard and don't quote me on this, but the mosquito union voted not to bite Villagers in return for no amenity fee
