Contract is up this month with T-Mobile. Thinking of switching to Sprint. Does anyone use Sprint and are you happy with them? Is service and calls ok from this area? Thank you for any input.

I have found Sprint to be horrible south of 466a. When we were in TV last November, I had to call AAA and was disconnected nine times. I finally got through on Mom's TracFone.

We use Verizon Wireless as we are also up north as well as in TV. We also use just our cell phones for five months of the year. Coverage is very good. We have a 65 + family share plan, 2 phones (no smart phone as I am not smart enough to use a smart phone) 450 minutes and free VZ to VZ and we pay approximately $75/mo taxes included. We're quite happy with them.

Where is your home located in The Villages?

We used Sprint and we live in Sable Chase, dropped call constantly. They even gave us a personal tower for our house and I would stand next to it and drop calls. So bad they let us out of our contract. Went back to Verizon and have no issues.

In a recent survey I saw, Sprint finished 4th behind Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. T-Mobile did well because it finished high in service in big cities. Basically, Sprint was dismal.

Does Verizon work south of 466A?
I chose Sprint because I was told it would work in The Villages and also in our rural area in Michigan. It doesn't work well in either locations. We can't get any calls inside our Michigan home.

I have Verizon and have no problems at Brownwood or anywhere else in The Villages. Can't say the same for my wife's Sprint, although she is able to use it well at our home in Bonita just North of 455a.

Get Verizon............ No matter where i am in the villages and surrounding area, it is great, clear and no dropped calls. I would have nothing else,if you do, you will change again............ OH yea some of the others will work, but....... not like Verizon. Don't take a salesman word for it, if you don't believe, borrow a friends phone that has Verizon and try all different areas of the villages. You will see.

I've mentioned several times, as have others, that Verizon coverage in Village of Charlotte (S of 466A) is very poor. Many dropped and missed calls inside the house.

We had Sprint and it was horrible. Many, many dropped calls. At that time it was our only phone. Very frustrating trying to deal with someone like Comcast and have the call dropped. Now you have to start all over again. We changed to Verizon and it works fine. We live north of 466A but use the phone all over TV including south of 466A with no dropped calls.

Well, let us be the exception. We have had Sprint for four years. We live in Tamarind Grove, just north of 466A, and have absolutely no problems. Nor do we have any problems other places we go in TV, although I will admit that we don't roam broadly around TV too much, using the phone. I can honestly say we have never had a dropped call. There was a dead spot in our condo in West MI, but otherwise we had no problems there either.
I like the fact that there is unlimited talk, data, texting. At some places in TV the internet part of our Sprint is slow, but not everywhere. We've been very pleased with it and have no intention of ever changing.
But it sounds like Verizon may be a better fit for you, from others' experience.

Verizon seems the have the best coverage in general most everywhere. They are not the least expensive. All depends on where you live and how you use your cell phone. For me the cell phone is all I ever use so it has to perform when I need it to.

you will find that Verizon has the better coverage here and in many parts of the country where others just do not reach.
We have been with Verizon since 2000.....there is no better coverage.

OP how has your service been with T-Moblie?
Interesting as T-Mobile is now contract free and number 2 to Verizon at a much more aggressive price. From what I understand they are aggressively adding to their tower network and TV is well covered. I am currently with AT&T and thinking of switching to T-Mobile after the iPhone 6 comes out and I can compare it to the LG G3.
I travel a great deal and T-Mobile has been fine for me. Occasionally I have a problem in my house so I step out on the lanai for better coverage. I am contract free now and have unlimited data, text, and calling for under $50. Love it. From what I've read it appears that Verizon may be more solid throughout The Villages but I plan to stay with T-Mobile as it works for me and saves money.

for those of you who have Verizon cell phones go online an google pageplus cellular. have been using them for over 3 years. they supply coverage by piggyback on Verizon network. no contracts and a bunch of plans to choose from. my smart phone cost me 12.00 a month. my wife has the 80.00 plan that is good for a year. they will port your # for free.
sidebar- if you have a smart phone and are in any wifi area you can use vontage service for free. just download the vontage app on your phone and you can use their service for 1,000 minutes free. does not use any minutes from your carrier. between vontage and page plus I never came close to going over my plan. I use the 1000 minutes for outgoing calls. if you call someone who also has the free vontage app then no minutes are used by either of you

We have had Sprint for 1 year and 11 months (my husband could probably tell you the number of days!) the moment our contract is up we will be changing to anyone other than Sprint. Reasons: no reception in Spanish Springs area (Flippers, Fiesta Biwl, etc.), incredibly slow search speeds, bad reception.
We're thinking of Cricket. Any comments on their service? Since they are owned by AT&T we assume (perhaps incorrectly) that the coverage and speeds will be acceptable.

We live in BonnyBrook. We have had Sprint since about 2005. Never have any problems. No dropped calls.

We currently have Cricket. Good not great service in TV and a little slow on data. Owned by AT&T but not the whole network.
