I have searched and found them online. With this being the largest golf cart community, I wonder why no one has opened a SOLAR CART dealership. :dontknow: Maybe the solar carts don't have the power to get around our big community? ??? Further research to be done.. :read: ..Investors take note. I would gladly push for sales! Commisions welcomed! ;D

They advertise in the Daily Sun usually 2-4 or more times a week. Look in the cart for sale and cart service columns.

My take on this scenario is:
The solar energy gathered by the solar panels would be used to recharge the batteries, thus the same batteries would be required to supply the huge amount of current required by the motor. So now we have a cart top loaded with solar panels at a cost of maybe $300.00-$500.00 just to supplement the charger that sits in the garage. We also have a situation (and don't make me do the math) of how many hours of DIRECT SUNLIGHT would be required to bring the batteries back up to full charge after 18 holes of golf?? Not sure about your garage but mine doesn't get to much sunlight after 9PM.
The key here is current (amperage) in huge bursts to power the electric motor, something solar panels will never do in our lifetime
Now I'm just a "handieman" so you guys tell me if my thinking is correct or is there an another secret

I'm not sure I totally understood your post, Handie, it might have been a "tad" too technical for me, but in my last company, we had many golf carts to run around the campus with. All of them were electric and we powered them by connecting to outlets that were powered by solar panels on the corporate building roof. The entire corporate building was solar powered, which has its good and bad points, but was a very good PR plan and apparently saved the corporation "umteen" bucks..

The dealer here at Markets of Marion (4 mi. north of TV ) tells me that solar panels gives the cart 85 miles on a sunny day and 65 miles on an overcast day.........Handi is right , Its a battery booster......

Kathie, good idea but not the subject of the question. I think we are talking about putting the panels directly on the cart. They do exist but it looks like they are battery 'helpers' only. Is it worth it? Money wise maybe but looks wise?
