Enjoyable fluff article. Shooting clay pigeons with a shotgun can be fun for anyone.
Absolutely nothing wrong at all with shooting clays or other targets. Nothing wrong with hunting if that is your thing.
Nothing wrong with keeping a rifle, shotgun, or pistol for home protection if that is your thing.
I don't think the writers of the Bill of Rights had streetsweeper shotguns in mind when they did their writing.

This is an unfortunate ISOLATED incident.
Proves, supports or denies NOTHING. Where is the report about the other 99.856789% that are safe and uneventful.....EVERY DAY!
Fodder for anti gunners.

Is this the story about the little nine year old girl who shot and killed her instructor today? You have to give this little girl a lot of credit. While other kids her age are trying to learn how to ride a bike or learn how to swim, she was learning how to use a semi-automatic machine gun, an Israeli made Uzi.
Kudos to her and her parents for training her the proper way to shoot a high powered gun. Read the article about kids having fun with guns that was on the NRA website today.

What?!?! This poor child has to live with the fact that she just witnessed someone being killed up close and she was the one who caused it? How can this possibly be seen as a positive?

How stupid can you be to give an Uzi to a 9 yo girl.

The instructor is definitely on his way to a Darwin Award. Picture the back story.

The instructor is dead. My girls would have no more been interested in shooting any gun than they would not be interested in dolls and dressing up at that age.
That child was her parents pawn. NOT good. AND you are right Jan. She will have to carry the fact that she killed someone for the rest of her life. What are parents thinking?????
I am not against adults having guns if they are trained, but this is TOO much for me. I hope never to KNOW anyone who owns an Uzi.

You pretty much have to be dead (with a few painful exceptions) to win a Darwin Award.

Sorry, some believe this is just another isolated incident. And the beat goes on and on and on.

I don't think the writers of the Bill of Rights had streetsweeper shotguns in mind when they did their writing.
The founders also didn't live with street gangs armed by drug cartels and muslim extremist terrorists providing machine guns and the stuff for nuclear "dirty bombs" brought across our porous borders. The colonial constables and sheriffs' firearms were pretty much equal with the attackers' firearms.
Which brings us to the brilliance of the founders' composition of the constitution and Bill of Rights:
They had the honesty and brains to admit in the first place that our nation HAS enemies who want to annihilate our model of government of a free-speaking people.
Today we don't even get an admission that we HAVE the blatant threats of those who vow to wipe us off the face of the earth, and have the capability to do it!! Denial "works" for many people now.
