Congratulations! We're closing on our home in Charlotte on September 12th. Unfortunately, we won't be moving down until after the first of next year. We're very much looking forward to meeting new neighbors and participating in Villages activities. See you soon!

...Coming from the Country Club of Mount Dora!...

We've been thinking of playing Black Bear Golf Course just north of you. Ever see any bears there? Is Mt. Dora Country Club private?

We lived in Monroe, CT! However when I moved with my parents we lived on the last street in Bridgeport. The realtor didn't know if I was going to go to school in Trumbull, Fairfield or Bridgeport! It was Bridgeport.

It has been a long time since I played at Black Bear, however I like their driving range better than ours since ours is over water and that is where my balls always go! Actually years since I played there so I don't remember the course but heard people like it.
Our club is open to the public and I think you would really like it, however it is narrow and a challenge especially the 7th and the 9th holes. Although I have played the back, I usually only play 9. I like to hear from you if you try it.
Can't believe you are trying other courses with so many in the villages.
Actually I am not a true golfer.....not sure what the game is that I play but I do have golf balls and clubs. My husband had to give up the game which is too bad.
As far as bears, I know we have had several...knocking down garbage cans and actually a neighbor said there was one that was crossing on our side yard.

Both my husband and I took two history classes and I took a literature class. I also took a number of bridge classes. I am not taking anything now and wait until the first of the year. I can't wait!

Thanks for the info. In the winter when green fees double or triple here, we often play off campus. It also gives you a chance to see different parts of Florida. If you're just an occasional golfer, then playing TV courses and the executives will be plenty for you.
