Does anyone have any experience putting a loved one in a rehab facility for physical therapy in the area...due to ins, our choices are limited:
Arbor Village-Wildwood
Avante of Leesburg-Leesburg
Lady Lake Specialty-Lady Lake
Osprey Point nursing & Rehab-Bushnell 23 mi away
Any info would be greatly appreciated...pls pm me if you prefer not to post. Thank you in advance.

I was in The Villages Rehab on 466. I was there for one month and it was a great experience. They are new and I think only open a year. I would check if maybe they may be on your insurance. They did not give me this rehab initially as an option, until I contacted the insurance company because they were new.

We did tour that facility, but asked her ins & they are out of network, I am sorry to say....it certainly was tops on our list...thank you for that.

Have you looked into the Freedom Pointe Rehab center. Across from TVRH. My wife was there for a week+ and the care was very good.

Is there a reason Medicare will not pay for rehab?

Another great one & in her network, but no beds available at all. Thx!

Time was running out & we had to make a choice - Lady Lake Specialty Care. We were told after the fact, that was a very good rehab facility. So praying that it was a special angel that steered us there as we were sorting it all out. Now for the next step...
Avoid Arbor Village. Spent 1/2 hour there after knee replacement and left AMA. Two people per room and one bathroom between 2 rooms. It is a nursing home. The rehab room was an old office. Absolutely the pits!

She is 89 & needs to be motivated by someone else, I've done all I can do. She is where she needs to be this time. Thx for that option info, for my own FYI down the road...

She has a copay that is considerably higher the first 20 days for outside the network & we need to watch her pennies. It's been an enlightening process for us when it's time to choose our plan very soon - having only minor issues to deal with in the past.

Interesting about network limitations because Village Rehab/SNF on CR 466 is owned by same company as Arbor Village in Wildwood. FYI the same applies to Lady lake Specialty Care, it is also owned by same company that owns The Club Rehab/SNF off of CR 42 near Mulberry Rec Center. While they are corporate relatives the facilities are world's apart.

My experience with Lady Lake Specialty Care has been very positive and the social service people are very helpful and understanding!!!

I went to Lady Lake rehab after knee surgery and had a wonderful experience. This was last September and found everyone there to be responsive and caring. My neighbor was in Arbor Village in Wildwood after hip replacement and said it was just an awful experience.

I would not put anyone that I cared about into Arbor or Lady Lake.
Ask them if Hawthorne Village in Ocala is on the approved list. Very nice facility with a good PT department. Depending on where you are in TV, it can be a short hop to Hawthorne Village (near Paddock Mall).

Thx, we did view that one, seemed depressing for a short term rehab option.

I'm puzzled about the out of network issue. If you have traditional Medicare, and a supplement (like AARP) there is seldom a network requirement for providers. I have both and can visit/use any provider I wish.
Are you on a Medicare Advantage plan?

My father got a hospital infection at Leesburg regional, and then bed sore, and fistula. He almost died. He is now able to go to rehab, and is very motivated. He needs a place the has excellent rehabilitation and wound management. He lost a lot of muscle tone as he was in bed so long. I love my father and I want him to go to the best facility that gives him the best chance to get his muscles back so he can walk again. He does not want a nursing home, he wants a place that really focuses on intense rehabilitation.
I do not know the facilities but the ones recommended to check out from promises hospital are
- avante leesburg
- villages rehab
-the club - villages
-freedom pointe.
You can PM if you want to share private information. First had experience is really needed.
thank you in advance
