We are thinking about putting a full size French Door Refrigerator Freezer, on our Lanai, and we would like to hear any comments good or bad from anyone that has done this.

Unless the lanai is closed in with A/C it will run like crazy and your electric bill will soar.
A refrigerator does not cool, it removes heat.

Agreed...however I know lots of folks who have refrigerators in their garages..perhaps equally as hot as a lanai.

Won't it get wet in the rain?

Most people I know put them in the garage.

I think it's a very bad idea. Not only the heat but the humidity also will adversely affect the refrigerator. Your electric bill could double. If your want a fridge for cold drinks why not put a little bitty dorm sized one out there?

I have one in my garage and it works fine. However it does run a lot in summer.

We have a small freezer in the garage. It works fine, very little frost, and I don't notice much extra on the electricity bill.
However, when we get one of those horrendous downpours with rain pounding and slanting in every which way, our lanai gets totally inundated for a bit. I would be very concerned about having a fridge out there. But our lanai is not enclosed.

I wouldn't put one on my lanai or in my garage.
You can always add a refrigerator drawer or under
counter refrigerator in place of a cabinet.

Have a fridge and also an ice maker at my outdoor bar...but the bar has a roof over it for shade and protection from rain. The appliances today have foam insulation (like a cooler would have) so they do retain the cool better.

Sorry, but unless this is part of a fabulous outdoor kitchen, this full sized French door fridge sounds a bit like putting lipstick on a pig.
