I will need a prescription to continue physical therapy when I get to Florida. My doctor cannot write one as he is not licensed in Florida.

Dr. Cynthia Harding or Dr. Gloria Chin, both hand/wrist surgeons.

Thanks, saw them both on line. Do you have personal experience with either of them?
Good MD'S, rotten office. Routine 1 hour wait, dogs roaming the treatment areas. Would not go back.

Dr. Cynthia Harding did hand surgery on my husband and a good friend of ours, she is an excellent surgeon. She is also a dog lover and has at least one of her labs in the office with her when she works. It did not bother us as we are dog lovers.

The dog didn't bother me, either. That day she didn't have a lab in the office, it was a dog with aloof behavior and a wrinkled face. I didn't have surgery since the cyst I wanted removed is sitting on top of an artery. My husband had Dr. Chin for another procedure and it was done very efficiently.

Thanks much at least now I have a starting base. The only thing that matters is if they are good doctors. The fact one of them has a dog in the office is not a issue for me. Although, it's a little odd and never seen this before, only at a vets office.

Tippy, you might find this interesting:
Florida is a state with DIRECT ACCESS, meaning you can be evaluated and treated by a licensed Physical Therapist for up to 21 days without a physician's referral/prescription. However, some private insurance payors may also require a referral/prescription.

I know of two other doctors in TV who have dogs roaming around. One is a pain management doctor, the other is primarily a woman's doctor. Both have labs - and come to think of it they are both very aloof, walk right past your outstretched hand to go outside - must have been trained that way!

CFrance I've already called the physical therapist in Florida and they require a prescription.
Madeline dogs in a medical office will not bother me at all.
Just called both doctors and can't get an appointment until January. The receptionist suggested I go see a primary care doctor for the prescription. Any referrals for one of those?
If this long waiting time is any indication of what seeking medical help is like in TV I'll be going to Orlando, or Tampa to see specialist. I cannot wait 5 months to see a hand doctor, or any other doctor.

Have used Dr. Harding and think she is an excellent practitioner. Plan to continue using her as needed.
