We have a 2010 EZGO RXV 48v cart. If we convert from 4X12v to 6X8v batteries does the tub (battery tray) need to be changed or modified? Second question, does the charge computer need to be adjusted or replaced? Third and final question, does the original EZGO charger work with the new battery configuration? Thank you.

Yes you do need to modify your battery compartment, and your electronic deltaQ charger
(Not My Favorite Charger) may be used to charge the new batteries properly.

Frank, thank you for your prompt response. Just to be clear, I will be able to use my original EZGO carger with the 6X8v battery configuration? Since you're not crazy about the EZGO OEM charger, what charger would you recommend that is superior?

Yes, you will be able to use your delta-Q.
We have hade many request for the conversions and we have completed four without a problem, however I would feel better with an upgraded charger and I will continue researching some options.
The reason for my concern is we would like to install six of the new Trojan T 160 8 volt batteries , they have 35% more range than the typical batteries and I need to be assured of a correct charger for there use.
More to come on this issue when I feel satisfied about the answers.

Does Trojan make the T160 type battery in a 6 volt?

Frank, in several posts there's mention of a "charge computer." Is the "CC" limited to Club carts with an onboard charger? If so, how do other carts handle this function? On an EZGO is the "CC" part of the delta-Q charger? Thanks.

The term on board computer is basically limited to Club Cars from approx 1996 too present. Most other battery powered carts have chargers with the brain for determining the charger operation within the actual charger. That goes for the off board as well as the on board such as the brand Delta Q both 36 & 48 volt?
Most of these chargers (not all) with the brain internal to the charger have a algorithm
Setting that is electronically changeable to accommodate different batteries and there charge recommendations.
Many times when it is time for battery replacement the people who are not aware of
This procedure may have the wrong algorithm for the battery installed and battery life and performance is altered.

The New style Trojan Batteries - ( Ranger T160 ) and (The Traveler) these two are only made in 8 volts at this time.
The Ranger is the model most wanted for our Village use and supply's 35% more range in the same space of six batteries.
The Traveler is for more torque use such as off road extra amps needed.

I have a 200r Club Car President that needs new batteries. What is the best battery to have installed. It has 4 12 volt Trojan batteries now. I have been told that Trojan isn't the best anymore, but their name has always meant a lot to me. Just looking for other's input.

We still have great respect for Trojan T 1275 - 12 volt batteries and as long as the give a 18
Month warrantee we will continue to sell them.

Four 12 volt batteries are not the best choice for Villages type of golf cart use.
But without going into expensive conversions the Trojan T1275 is still a good choice and carries a 18 month warrantee. The key to longer life is not to push them beyond the 50%
Mark of the charge cycle to often.

I am looking at a 2009 48 volts ez go rxv with 2013 trogan 12 volts batteries. is there still a problem with this cart and the batteries.

I am still a believer of Trojans , the real issue is that 4/ 12s in "The Villages" is pressing the system too the limit.
Look into upgrading to 6/8volts Trojan Rangers T160 and you will not believe the improvement. Your consideration should only be considered if your cart is in good condition.$$$
