Gracie, I'm thinking of getting a tiny and tasteful butterfly tattoo in a place that doesn't sag, maybe my angle.
The pictures you posted are gross. It's like someone asking where to get their ears pierced. And then you post some gross pictures of people with tongues pierced, and eye brows and noses and lips and and nipples and god knows what else.
I'm going for a tiny tattoo, others are going also. I bet when you see the finished product, you'll be wishing you'd tagged along."

Thanks for the recommendations. My wife has maybe watched too many tattoo shows on TV and wants to get a dragon ouroboros (http://ourfunnyplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Ouroboros_dragon2.jpg) on her upper arm/shoulder. Her main concern is that so much depends on the skills of the tattoo artist, which can be hit or miss.
Why are the photos gross? Are there too many tattoos? If it's because the subjects are seniors with less than elastic skin, then you'd probably best stay away from the pools here. ;)

We just got back home after spending a week at Panama City Beach. We were both shocked at the number of young girls we saw with "sleeves", at least one arm from the shoulder down totally covered with tattoos. Some were flowers, leaves, butterflies, etc,......but many were skulls & dragons & other not so feminine stuff. Makes one wonder what they were thinking.
I can't help but think that in a few years there's going to be a huge demand for dermatologists that specialize in tattoo removal.

I don't think a Tattoo should be taken lightly. I am thinking about getting one myself. But as I looked around, I was surprised at how many crappy tattoos are out there. So my search was on. If Im going to put something on my body, I want it right and by the best. I did a search on the top 10 tattoo parlors in the country, and then searched out the best artist for the type of tattoo I wanted. Looks like I will be taking a trip.

Big Time Customz in Douglasville, Ga outside of Atlanta. My son is an excellent tattoo artist and has been doing this work for 23 years. The shop is clean and my son has a great reputation. He goes by Tony Loco! He has been recommended by Miami Ink and other leading tattoo artists.

Bill Gold at Tattoo Studio 441 in Eustis would be my first choice. Thing is Bill has like a 3-5 month waiting list.. Probably one of the best around here.
welcome (http://www.tattoostudio441.com/)
Next would be Diamond Tattoo. I would ask for Margo to do it, if not her then Peggy.
Tattoo Studio Summerfield, FL - Diamond Tattoos & Body Piercings (http://diamondtattoossummerfield.com/)
Those are who I would use. One other would be Trinity Tattoo in Orlando area.
Jorge is really good, does alot of freehand work.
Anytime you get a tattoo always make sure all needles and supplies are new. The 2 above will go over that with you and show you the packages as they open them.

"I have thousands of ancestors who would not let me sit next to them in heaven if I arrived with a tattoo.(UNLESS I joined the Navy and became an Admirel)"
This version of "heaven" pretty much capsulizes what is wrong with organized religion and why they are mankind's greatest detriment to true spirituality.

THAT POST of mine was supposed to be funny. We aren't having a heavy discussion of religion here. I am an old woman with certain dislodgeable ideas. I think I am not opposed to you.
A sense of humor is a great blessing in this life.
I will get a tattoo when Princess Kate gets one. I was gonna say the Queen but she is such an old sourpuss.

Gracie Girl, I'm with you. I do not like seeing tattoos of any type on anyone. That's my opinion. Why not just decorate your body with temporary tattoos -no disease risk and you can change them.

I currently live in the Panhandle of Florida. I have had occasion to know more than a few mothers of varying ages. Most of these mothers are very short of funds for basiic needs. I cannot comprehend why a mother will go out and spend three to five hundred dollars on tattoos when their dependent children do without diapers, shoes, a real bed, a few toys, lights on in the house, running water and food.
I realize most Villager's children are grown ao they have the means to pay for extras. But because of what I have seen, I automatically link tattoos with desperate self involvement. What would be less expensive is to buy a sign to hang around the neck that says, "Look at me, please!" Many of these women are very attractive so it is doubly hard to understand. I can't help my feelings on this subject:) :rant-rave:
I don't know if this is the best time to say we are moving to The Village of Buttonwood October 1! I am so happy to be a good neighbor to the tatted and untatted among us!

We aren't talking tramp stamps at the age of 22 here!
If a retired lady gets a tasteful tattoo on her wrist, I think there is a good chance that it will remain a butterfly as years go by.

Another reason NOT to get a ttatoo:
1 Corinthians 6:19 - What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
Leviticus 19:28 - Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I [am] the LORD.

If you get a tattoo, you need to make sure you are using a artist that is great at the trade. For the most part, if a tattoo fades really quick or turns to like scare tissue usually the artist dug into the skin to much. Bright colors fade real quick if out in the sun alot. Mine are black and grey for that reason.
You get what you pay for, cheap tattoo is just that. Always research the shop and artist you are using.
No need to turn this thread into what you should do and should not do by religion or what someone thinks. The thread is asking for tattoo shop recommendations. If one wants a tattoo then by all means get one. :spoken::beer3:

I did misunderstood your comment, sorry.
It seems that Diamond Tattoo is the go-to place for Villagers.
There is still something about the process I find a tad scary.
In the meantime, does anyone know where to buy the little temporary tattoos?
