How is the coverage with AT&T cell service in TV? I have Verizon and it's ok but not alot of bars. Does anyone have AT&T that lives in or around Collier?? Wondering how the coverage is please???
Thanks so much in advance for any/all help.

My cell phone reception with AT&T was terrible in Collier. I had to go outside, and even then calls were dropped. I called AT&T and they said I needed a micro cell tower for $199. They would reimburse the cost through my monthly bills. I have heard the micro cells give better reception and I will be getting one.

I was at the AT&T store over on US441 last week. They said they have plans to install three new cell towers in the Brownwood area before the end of the year. Hopefully they are correct.

We are with Verizon and sometimes we get 4G sometimes not. We are located in Collier. From what I understand Verizon is the best you can get in the area. If ATT actually does put a tower at Brownwood that would be a game changer! Like everyone we have a love hate relationship with cell companies and cable companies!

We are in St. James and have good coverage with AT&T throughout TV as well as South of 466a. A couple years ago coverage was a bit spotty before they added cell sites.

They are installing a new cell tower on micro race track road about a 1/4 mile north of 466a. If you look north and east toward colony place you can see the top of the tower without any cell receivers on it yet. They where just delivering the computer shack on Wednesday. Comes on a flat bed and looks like a single wide trailer, about 40 feet long. Not sue who will be on the tower

Have lived in Collier for a year now. Have AT&T and have never had a dropped call. Usually no more than three bars, but no dropped calls.

Sounds like I may have gotten lucky with my lot being in the right spot.

I so appreciate the information. I only get normally 1-2 bars with my Verizon and was contemplating switching to AT&T but I might wait until I can have someone bring their AT&T phone and see how it comes in where we live. Thank you all so much it was a great help.

It was terrible when I first got here but they put up a few towers since - I actually am considering getting rid of my land line......

Most likely will also attach to the new water tank at Brownwood which should really help the area south of 466A..

Not lucky at all. Same as my experience in Sanibel over the last 2 years.

We have AT&T in Collier and sometimes had no service at home. We got the microcell and it in now quite good. AT&T will not reimburse the $200 if you have one of the newer family plans, but at least we have service.

Just some feedback. I understand it costs about $1M and 18 months to get a tower installed from the time it is a recognized need and process starts. The reason as they have to find the property to install the Cell Tower equipment and the proper clearances,(Gov't,etc.etc.) They can pull up a map and see exactly where there is weak or no coverages in The Villages. My point is that if you tell them where you have no or a weak signal they can give you some idea as to when it will be corrected. My "guess" is that their input maybe flawed since some of the needs are based on input not controlled by them I am not a big fan of AT&T and believe they got over on me but I believe the above is close to an answer. You can call their Florida Hdq's in Jacksonville which controls this area and let them know of your concerns. :mornincoffee:
