Friends, spouse, kids, they really get mad at me. Any comments on WHY??? :chillout:

For several reasons -- it takes time away from them, it is an interest they don't share and they can't understand how you can get involved with total strangers. Bernie should "get it." He's reaped some of the benefits of TOTV -- meeting good people and having fun with them.

My hub thinks this is a great way for me to enjoy some spare time and get some great information and make new friends!!.... I try to get work done on the computer (try!) and have the laptop next to the cabled computer, so I can keep up with TOTV posts. HHMMM seems the laptop is used a bit more than the other computer at times!!! Caught hub checking out the restaurant thread!!! Now if we could just get some work done, we might be able to afford to eat out more often!!................OK excuse me while I TRY to do some data input WORK!! >:(

RW said it best "it takes time from them". Time you could be watching television together or you staying up later just to be on the computer talking to "strangers". I am so thankful that Barbara is not a jealous type person and truly understands my love for TV and TOTV. I keep her updated on the news and she is happy with that. She knows in the end it will benefit her also. ;)

JohnnyM,, Yes you have a great wife!

I dont think its the fact that Im on TOTV as much as the amount of time spent on it.

When I was addicted to computer games a few years back, my DH used to get mad because he said all he saw was my back for hours on end. :-)

Russ,
I think it's wonderful you are in nursing. My son chose nursing as his 2nd career too.

I love the fact that I have made "friends" here at TOTV.

It is a great site not only for good info, but to meet people who share the same obsession, addiction, etc (whatever) that you have.

Can't wait to meet many of you in May. Feel like we have been friends for a long time--and I guess, in a way, we have!!!

I do understand my better half:
The toast is burnt -- sorry was in the middle of sending a PM
The dog is holding her legs crossways - wait just one more post to read
The bills are not paid -- just recieved a dozen new PMs
The clothes in the dryer are scortched -- I was reading what RW just posted
The hot water is still running, now its cold -- Oh I had to log in to see the new pictures
The iceream melted on the counter top -- I was tied up in chat
Quiet I'm trying to concentrate - K has this problem I need to help her with
Your phone is inging -- no that BF who lost her r's

Sincerely -- I do understand the new friends we've made thanks to the bonds of TOTV.

Bernie, I can really relate. That's what's happening in my house, but its me who's doing what Nonie does.

Sounds like my post from January about being addicted to TOTV, bills weren't paid, no food in house, no clean clothes in drawers, haven't gone food shopping in 10 days, all the same stuff. We can't help it and now that we are all sistah's, I hate to tell you but its going to get worse!!!

Sorry to tell you that bad news but its true!

Kath (who has a lot of problems and Nonie is always there for me)!!!!

My hubby definitely knows I am addicted to TOTV and really doesn't mind..

At night all he can hear is me laughing, that is a good thing..http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/coffeescreen.gif (http://www.millan.net)

If i get up at 3am and I don't go back to bed, John knows where I am..Reading the posts on TOTV.. 024..Sitting at the computer with coffee and cigarettes, all set up for the night..LOL

I have company and still check my messages as I pass by the computer..As soon as I get home from work, I check the computer for new posts..http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/innocentsmily.gif (http://www.millan.net)

If this isn't addicted, I don't know what is..

I love the chat room, and all the friends I have madehttp://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/chatsmileys.gif (http://www.millan.net)

TOTV is a great place to be and I am so glad I am a part of it... http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/awwsmiley.gif (http://www.millan.net)

Bernie your post is hysterical! I am also completely addicted and am out there getting others addicted too! Well, in my good friend Nonie's defense, we wouldn't have had the pleasure of meeting you two wonderful people and many more if it wasn't for TOTV. You've met my husband, so you know he's in a zone of his own. :o LOL He plays Bridge on computer (addicted to it) and I chat or post on TOTV so it all works out. Although I will admit I have heard my drama queen daughter sigh on the other end of the phone when I say "hold on just a minute, let me finish this post!" ;D I can't explain the phenomenon. Other than good chats, good debates ::) good information, good laughs and great friends.

Bernie, I'm sorry I write such long posts. It really has to make you flinch when Nonie mentions me as an excuse. Sorry it's caused scorched clothing. (How do clothes get scorched in the dryer anyway?)

I'm addicted too.* As soon as I get home from work I check to see what has been posted and to make sure I haven't missed anything exciting.* Then later I go to see who is in chat and if I'm not too tired I check-in there.* Sometimes even when I'm tired I go in anyway and start posting and end up waking right back up again.* I feel I know some of the people on TOTV and I haven't even been to Crispers yet.* One of these times we'll be there when the group meets.*

Would hipnosis help with all our adictions? Does anyone know how to shut off the hours spent on TOTV, seriously! My wife says it is getting too high!

red,

Hubby says his underware is too tight because of me being on TOTV and letting the dryer run too long. Lets see ,Im sure there are other things I can be blamed for because of TOTV! ::)

Bernie - Fireboy left at the end of February for Canada and I just noticed two days ago that he was gone!! You're lucky that at least Nonie is still making toast for you, burnt or not.

TOTV has been a great way to meet you all and form new friendships. I am so grateful to the Administrators who came up with the concept. :#1:

Nonie -- make a deal with him ... you'll let him buy new shorts and you'll cut down on PMs to no more than 20 a day and he can't complain about TOTV addictions or we'll help you REALLY shrink them.

Bernie, some things in life are a tradeoff. I bet Nonie smiles more now. I know we're all enchanted with her giggle. You wouldn't have that pleasure at least 7 times a day if it weren't for TOTV. Nor would you have the chance to go to such wonderful gatherings as Hyacinth's St. Paddy's Day party and the TOTV get together. Sometimes you just have to give a little to get a little.

Hi Bernie,

I think you are a very nice person, understanding, considerate, warm, friendly and with a good sense of humor. What I do not understand is why you can not do the things that you are suggesting your sweet, wonderful, lovely, compassionate, delightful and devoted wife should do.

We are addicted to each other - we now have Sistahs that need our attention and help. That is what being a Sistah is all about.

Of course there is one easy solution to the items you stated - hire a butler and a maid. That way all problems will be resolved.

So my dear Bruddah - you now know what you need to do. As your new Sistah I would like to mention I also need a butler and maid.

See ya soon.

Sistah Hyacinth Bucket
