Could someone please give us some feedback on a Dr. Frank Bono?? My husband has severe spinal stenosis. Since Dr. Spurrier is not available and Dr. Hill will not return our phone call, Dr. Bono has been recommended to us. Could someone please help us?? thank you

I'd say google his name to see what others have said online. There are health sites for such as this.

I'd say you're fortunate that Dr. Hill didn't return your calls. I've not heard good things about him (back when I was dealing with disc issues). I'm saddened to hear about Dr. Spurrier leaving. Maybe it'll be temporary (hope so) but that doesn't help folks in their need now.

I don't think surgery will help spinal stenosis as much as light stretching and exercise.
Have not heard any positives about Dr Bono. He'll do surgery, but it won't help much in the long run.

I highly recommend Dr. Spurrier; I would try to get with him.

I agree re: your statement but you must have missed the thread that told us he's left his practice here, which is unfortunate for his patients and the rest of us who may need some excellent care!!! I've heard the horror stories as well so it may take some investigative work to find someone!

Dr. Spurrier is gone. His office is closed and he is off of the list at TVRH

I was just checking out The Mayo which unfortunately isn't even taking a wait list right now they are so far booked out. They advised me they have an affiliate The Parrish Medical Center in Titusville (about 1 1/2 hours from TV) which I have checked out and they appear to be very well regarded. Take a look at their website for additional info. I would not mess around with spinal surgery without going to the best of the best.

Just did a check...didn't get any red flags! That said I do agree with you re: spinal surgery AND the care of it! BUT sometimes supplemental insurance doesn't allow to travel so that might be another consideration here as well. Stinks "IF" a person is limited with something as serious as a back issue.

I went to the Ocala Neurosurgical Group and Dr Oliver did my neck surgery 3 yrs ago. Have been great ever since. I would never hesitate to see him again or recommend him to others.

Yes, it does. I am going to use Parrish for my daughter who is on regular insurance and it is covered. My husband's medicare insurance supplement only allows regional hospitals like TV. He ended up at Shands in an emergency transfer from TV and therefore it was covered at in network. We will continue to use the specialists at Shands who were absolutely top notch...meanwhile we are going to look into alternative medicare programs to enable use to get quality care versus the best deal for the insurance company.

Dr Hill performed surgery on my wife and we were very satisfied and the results were great. Unless you have been directly involved I would suggest that you be careful with opinions
