Greeting All: Two year old "Buddy" has become a new member of the family! We adopted him through a local rescue, and he will be "taking care" of my mother.

My mother lost her dog to old age almost a year ago and had been hesitant to adopt again. While she still misses "Kisses", she decided that she was ready for another companion. My wife and I were thrilled that she was ready for a dog, and the stars came into alignment. "Buddy" showed up in need of a home and the "fit" with my mom was just right. He is small enough for her, is very friendly with everyone and everything, and is laid back enough to follow her lead. The little guy just has it-I am sure you all know what I mean. When we are ready to adopt for ourselves, we'll go back to the rescue again and hope that if anyone else is ready to adopt, that they check out their local rescue groups as well. We have adopted our last 4 dogs through dogs rescues and this is the 3rd dog for my mom. When asked what our favorite breed is, the answer is simple, it is "rescue". Have a great day!

Lovely, the best dogs come from the rescues, we have had our rescue dog for five or more happy years, just a way of giving back a big thank you from all our previous much loved dogs who had happy lives and gave much happiness in return. Time to pay it forward!

Congratulations. It's a win-win for all. We have had our rescue dog, Olivia, for three weeks now. She has sure wormed her way into our hearts. We can't imagine life without her. She is fun, frisky, cuddly, lovable, and sweet.

It is heartwarming to hear rescue stories. :bigbow:

Our 70 lb. dog Lollipop had four homes before we got her, and she is perfect in every way.
I had to talk Fireboy into adopting a rescue. Now he says she is the best dog he's ever had!
