Is anyone else as crazy as me going to be online at 3am Friday to pre-order an iPhone 6?
We're trading in my wife's 4s and my 5 for a pair of 128GB Gold iPhone 6 Plus models.

I'm sure you won't be alone there Alan. I'll wait a few weeks though. Take my place in line. :icon_wink:

You gotta love Apple and their pricing strategy ;-) The bigger (5.5" diagonal vs. 4.7" diagonal) iphone 6+ is only an extra $100 and to go from 16 GBs to 64 GBs is only an extra $100 and to go from 64 GBs to 128 GBs is only an extra $100. You may as well get the maxed out version but it is essentially an $850 phone when you consider the additional cost per month with a new 2-year plan. I think we will wait another year to replace our 2 iphone 4s models but the iphone 6+ sure looks great with the much larger screen. Please post back when you have them and let us know what you think.

Did you back up your phone on your computer? Even though my contacts automatically sync with my computer via the cloud, I do plug it in every month or so to update. Also, my computer is backed up on an external hard drive every two minutes.

when I see/hear the retail prices of $500 or $650 or $850 I always wonder.....who, if anybody pays retail for a phone?
I wait until I am entitled to an upgrade and then wait until the model I want is either free or less than $100.......and this assumes our current phones are a problem.
Do you know or ever heard of anybody paying retail?

If you want the current Apple iphone model (iphone 6), there are no deals. If you are content with the previous generation, then there are deals. Other manufacturers are different but that is the way Apple works. The only exception I have come across with Apple is refurbished products.
You can get an iphone 5c (previous generation) with 8GBytes for $0 upfront and a new 24 month contract. With ATT, you will essentially wind up paying $360 for that phone ($15/month for 24 months when you don't BYOD). For an extra $200 upfront you can have an iphone 6 (4.7" diagonal) with 16 GBytes.
"Free phones" (i.e. $0 upfront when you agree to a new 2 year contract) are not really free. Again, ATT will charge you $15/month for 2 years when you don't bring your own device.
Better deals can be found without a 2-year contract.

My wife and I were dragged in to buying our first I Phone because of the various additional uses. The benefit with Apple's new program is their program for making payments via phone vis a vis credit cards when that comes to full fruition it is going to be the cats pajamas

I'll be doing the pre-order also on Fri. I have a 4s and have been waiting for the 6's to come out. I have to decide still which size that I want. I'm looking towards the 6 plus but I've never had a phone that big. Anyone tell me what it's like to hold a phone that large to your ear and talk on it? The texting and internet aspect of it will be great though.

I have a IPhone 5 and hubby a 5S mine is overdue for an upgrade so I will be getting the 6 probably the 4.7 I have had Samsung and other Androids but am totally in love with Apple. There support is so superior on the rare occasion you need it. Never lost any data because I always back it up and if I can't find it they have been able to retrieve it for me :) I am so glad I switched. I still want to see the phones and feel them first. I spoke with ATT and they said the Phone stores on the 19th will only get 10 per store! So good luck you better camp out. I have waited this long and will just wait till the dust settles from the first shipment....LOL Can't wait for a little bigger screen and some of the other cool features and we both really want the watch when it comes out next year!

I love my Mac but really doubt that I would go to an iPhone. I hate the way the lock you down so you can't change the battery or add a micro SD card. That really bites. Android is every bit as good now a days.

Phooey to paying all that money for a phone. I went to AT&T to upgrade and there were no deals. I ended up with a $1 phone and dropped the $50 a month data plan. That's a $1200 savings. I bought a hot spot and use the pay as you go plan for wi-fi. Way cheaper and I can use it for my tablet too.

So I get up at 2:45 and start trying sprint.com at 3.
It took an hour to connect and 15 minutes to place the orders once I connected, but I was able to pre-order a pair of iPhone 6 Plus 128GB in gold.
They would not give a delivery date but said "within 3 weeks". But at least I won't have to wait in line for hours next Friday.
