Donate your old chess set to a good cause

There is a new club, Chess Mates, meeting in the Villages starting September 25, 2014.

Some of our members have volunteered to play chess with children at the Sumter County Library. We would make good use of your old, unused (but with all the pieces!) chess sets, teaching children to play this great game.

Please contact me via Private Message on TOTV if you are able to donate your much-loved but under-utilized chess set.

I do not know how to play chess, nor do I have a chess set.

But I just wanted to say thank you.

I have some knowledge of chess programs like this for kids and for teenagers. It is an absolutely wonderful idea. And when you get to the point where the students are teaching other students, it is really terrific.
