I would put this in the Singles folder but there doesn't seem to be much activity there.
I am a single retired guy and will be visiting the Villages for a month or more this summer. and if I like it would consider moving there. Where is the night life in the Villages, especially dancing? I've read that there is entertainment and dancing on the town squares but how late does that go on? Where do people go after that? Do you have to go outside the Villages and is the quality of the night life good. I'm not much of a drinker, in fact don't drink at all but I do like to dance, east coast, west coast etc.
Any singles here who can attest to the quality of the night life there? Thanks for any advice.....Wilt

You will want to go to Katie Belle's. It is the club for residents but if you are renting you can purchase the rights of the owner for $50.00 for your rental time. Great music and good fun.

Welcome Wilt!!
You will be very popular here! If you are a guy who can dance, I guarantee you'll have a good visit. There are many women here who are looking for someone to dance with (include me in that). I've done EC & WCS for years and they are some of my favs.
Dancing on the squares usually goes til about 9 pm, and some other places nearby are open after that, such as Katie Belle's til 10 or 11 pm depending on the night, also Margaritas, etc. Here's a link to the schedules of KB's and the squares:

(Looks like this link has to be copied and pasted into your address bar)
You can get into KB's if you're with a resident who has an ID.
Also if you like, there are Recreation dances regularly at the Rec centers, just look in the Rec Guide online here:

Search on dance... or pick up one every Thurs at any Rec Ctr. Feel free to send me a pm when you're planning to be here. I could call some of my dancing friends, if we want a group, and we can do some dancing.

Indyguy and PJ--thanks for your responses and for the links. Sounds like things kind of close up by 11:00 p.m. or so which is late enough for me. PJ, I'll PM you when I get down there. It won't be until at least July, maybe later. I've been doing east coast for years and just now learning west coast and really beginning to get in to it. Golf is actually my first love but dancing is up there also.
I'm very active and like the idea of having something to do in the evenings if I feel like it. I'll keep monitoring this subject in case anyone else wants to add any info. I'm really looking forward to checking out the Villages and maybe even moving there if I like the area. Almost everyone I've talked to who has been there really likes it.

Nah, Fumar's not single, but he's right. I know more than one single male here who wears a wedding ring. Dancing is very big in TV. Oh, if you're free and need a dance partner, shout out!
The one to ask about places to dance when TV closes up is VillageKid. She knows what the Shadow doesn't. :) ;D

In addition to dancing, there are clubs that meet at night. There are different card games such as Euchre, Pitch, Bridge, if you look in the Recreation newsletters. You can come in as a single, you don't have to be a couple. Enjoy your stay!

There are clubs devoted specifically to dancing. Not sure how, but you might want to get ahold of the Rec News, which comes out each week, to see the offerings. Good luck!

I think someone earlier posted a link to the Villages newspaper that contains the rec news. I'll check that again for dancing. I know that there is a decent sized singles golf group there (ASGA). I am a member of the local chapter of that group here where I live. Thanks to everyone who has replied.
Would be interesting to know what percentage of the Villages population is single. It appears to be very couples oriented but I guess that would be true of any retirement community. I'm still checking in here if anyone cares to add anything.
Thanks again.....Wilt
