Why are you giving them up? I have two Maltese (one year old) and can't imagine giving them up unless there were extreme circumstances. I hope that's not the case with you and there's a good reason you're doing this. Hopefully someone will take them in. I think it might help if you post pictures and give some details, age, weight and health condition, just saying.

Did you try a search for a Maltese rescue in FL? Even if it isn't close to The Villages, they may have volunteers that would pick up the pups. They can work with you to understand the temperament and then go to a foster or forever home after doing their own evaluations. I'm certain your intentions are good in trying to find a home, but the rescues of all breeds have the training and knowledge to find a good home.

I'm really sorry the pups can't stay in the home where they are now, but finding the perfect home may be better done by a rescue.

PLEASE. . . please don't let these pups go to some unknown place!
Your thread makes it sound like you are literally throwing these dogs out.
For all you know, someone reading your post could take them to breed heat after heat in a puppy mill.

Every pure bred/pedigreed dog has a rescue where they will place the dogs in good, qualified homes and foster them until they can find one.

Please contact the American Maltese Association Rescue if you need help:
