Just curious if I need to get a license to fish in TV? Also has anyone ever rented a pontoon boat for a leisurely afternoon? Thanks!

It is my understanding that you need a freshwater fishing license unless you are 65 years or older. I bought mine at the Walmart. Good luck.

Ronda, Here's a helpful website on licensing requirements:
http://floridafisheries.com/license.html
Basically, if you are not 65, you need a license (freshwater is $17/year) unless you use something like a cane pole and fish in your county. But, good news, You are timely in asking as the first weekend in April is exempt according to the website:
"Anyone fishing in public waters during the first weekend of April, which is designated as free-fishing weekend to encourage new anglers to try the sport, and for families to share some quality time together relaxing in the outdoors."
Have fun!

The numbers of bass nests in the shallows of Lake Sumter are really amazing. They're everywhere..like little sand moon craters.

I've rented pontoon boats in the gulf they run about $400 a day. I've also rented canoes at Lake Griffin state park for about $20 for the afternoon. I've seen kayak rentals over in the Daytona area but never checked the prices.
