Dr. Holman at Lake Eye is fantastic. I had both my eyes done and would highly recommend him.

you'll get a plethora of responses here but Dr. ElMallah at Ocala Eye is very good. He's also a glacoma specialist as well.

Look for a surgeon that has experience implanting many different kinds of IOLs for the best recommendation for your eyes.
Medicare and most insurances will cover a 2nd and even a 3rd opinion before surgery. Use it.
You only have one set of eyes. Don't base your selection on a low-bidder.
I had mine done up north, but if The Villages are your starting point, one of the 1st doctors I'd visit would be Dr Kimberly Ireland, St Lukes at The Villages.
Good luck on your journey.

I second the vote for Dr. Holman. My eyes were very bad. I have a history of detached retinas in both eyes. I was told for years by my retina doc in WA state to wait until the very last minute before having cataract surgery because my retinas might detach again. Dr. Holman did the surgery with lasers and I no longer need glasses except for readers. I have worn glasses since 1st grade! He is very personable and very skilled.

i am deciding between Dr Mohamed Elmallah at Ocala eye! who also wants me to see a Retna specialist for some minor issues in my left eye /just to make sure!

Dr. Charles of Mid-Florida Eye has done thousands with an extremely professional staff. Two of mine were done a couple of years ago. No pain --- very professional --- played softball within the first week. Have never seen better.

Dr. Keith Charles of Mid-Florida Eye is outstanding. Their group advertises more than 100,000 cataracts in Central Florida. They have two offices here in The Villages area and accept The Villages Health Plan.

Dr. Baumann did my husband's second cataract. Husband had had lasix surgery on that eye which any doctor could see. Dr. did measurements. long story short, the wrong lens was put in and now my husband has to wear glasses. Dr. kind of blamed husband because he didn't tell him about the lasiz surgery

I had my first eye surgery today at St. Luke's by Dr. Ireland. I was very impressed with the care and professionalism of Dr. Ireland and her whole staff. Must admit, I was very nervous, would rather have a tooth pulled than someone touching my eyes.

Everyone in that facility reassured me that all would be fine and made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. The surgery went very well, no pain at all and it was in and out. Pre-op and post-op procedures took more time than the actual surgery.

I've had no pain all day but am sleeping a lot, from the anesthesia. That's just me but its nice to just relax after being so nervous.

Having second eye done this week and I'm sure I'll be much less nervous and all will be fine.

I would highly recommend St. Luke's and Dr. Ireland and her staff.

BTW, I chose not to have my vision corrected because I love my glasses, been wearing them since the 3rd grade and it would be like cutting off my nose, lol. I'd look really strange.

They do ask for a Medical History including previous surgeries. Lasik is kind of an important procedure to just forget to mention.
